" The L-10 Project started life as two old-school punk rockers who play bizarre acoustic music and have an emo name. The Project was founded in the spring of 2002 by Barry "The Bear" Levine on vocals and Mike "Mista' Slutz" Slutz on guitar, and and has been stunning audiences into delighted submission since our first show on November 13th, 2002 when we positively gave the audience what it was not expecting. Since then we have played with such bands as (among others) Chasing Aimee, Red Light Go, Say No to the Microchip, 13 Inches, The Krose, Dot Commies, Horsebox, the Arc Welders, G.F.I., the Groovy Rednecks, Dead Lazlo's Place, Memphis Murder Men, Bel and the Dragon, the Pods, Enblessin, In Theory, Spinster Sister, the Fratellis, Heavy Manners, the Dilemmas, The B Sharps, Ten Seconds to Go, and Chase Long Beach at such places as the Knitting Factory, the Dragonfly, the Anarchy Library, the Crooked Bar (R.I.P.), the Garage (R.I.P.), Zen Sushi, and El Cid in the L.A. area, the Time Out Sports Bar in the Bay Area, and the Sidewalk Cafe in New York City. This July we will be taking things to the next level when we play a pair of dates on the Vans Warped Tour (see show dates for details). Everything is fair game for us, from penguins taking over the world, to dating girls with goiters, to moshing 'til your eyes bleed to the thunderous sounds of an acoustic guitar, to hating the system and sticking it to the man. There are no boundaries, no rules, and no sacred cows. We have a live demo. CD available for purchase at www.olivejuicemusic.com.
Just recently we expanded to a four piece band when we were joined by Rick Murder on bass (for electric songs) and acoustic guitar (for non-electric songs obviously), and Jonny Havoc on drums.
