i like to cook. i like to read. i like to write. i like to play texas holdem. i like to drink. i like to smoke. i like sad music. i like meaningful bunches of words. i like my cats except for when they throw up, which is kind of a lot. i used to drink apple juice and eat cheerios every morning when i was little. i had an imaginary friend named tommy. i would make my mom give him apple juice and cheerios too. then i ate them.
Bob Barker is retiring so it is now my mission to meet him on the stage of The Price is Right or come on down as my pop-pop used to call it. And also the bear in Borat
As a child I listened to what my parents listened to and I liked it. I remember my Mom tapping her rings on the steering wheel to Eagles songs and I thought someday I’d tap my ringed fingers on the steering wheel just like her. Then MTV came along and I fell in love with Pat Benatar and bought my very first tape. Luckily my brother is nine years older than me and even though I had some missteps with bubblegum music I was loving hair metal, punk, goth, etc. by the age of ten. Then came middle school and I of course discovered classic rock thanks to my best friend. By ninth grade I fell into the whole grunge thing and then met some cool kids that introduced me to what I suppose is indie/punk rock. I was introduced to Jawbreaker, Screeching Weasel, Fugazi, etc. I started going to shows. I loved it. Later on my friend Heather introduced me to even more. Nowadays I don’t quite understand all of the genres and I’m sort of in a musical rut with a new band popping into my musical rotation every now and again thanks to the steves and the spano and the bill in my life. My favoritist bands ever are Jawbreaker, Jets to Brazil, Archers of Loaf, The Cure, Fugazi, Screeching Weasel, Inxs, Bloc Party, The Killers, Pavement, Hot Water Music, The Lemonheads, Flogging Molly, Dashboard Confessional, Nirvana, and I’m a sucker for soundtracks. Figure it out from there.
