Kings Parade are a four piece rock band from Liverpool.
Formed in the Summer of 2005, the band is made up of Marc Kenny - lead singer and guitar, Nick Ellison on bass, Paul Hayes on drums and Phil Doran on lead guitar.
"Everyone seems out of it, it's ten past six i'm feelin' ill, got no job but bills to pay..." - lyrics taken from the track Sirens Call written in 2005 shortly after the band got together. "It explains how we all met," Marc tells me. "There was a fair bit of partying going on!"
As well as performing with the likes of The Hoosiers, Scouting for Girls, Deacon Blue, Milburn and Wheatus, members of Kings Parade have also contributed to the hugely successful cultural events surrounding Liverpool '08 - European Capital of Culture including being featured in the Liverpool ’08 television documentary to be aired shortly.
With a cult following in the North West of England, Kings Parade musical influences range from The Beatles to The Killers, Kula Shaker and Pink Floyd.
Winning Radio One's song writing competition organised by DJ Chris Moyles, and judged by Coldplay's Chris Martin, who said "exceptional talent", the band have recently performed live in the studio for London television www.sub.tv and are being broadcast to 1.8 million students over 100 universities per week.
The bands debut E.P. was recorded at the famous Parr Street Studios in Liverpool City Centre, the same place that created the magic for Coldplay, Embrace and Paolo Nutini to name a few.
