Band Members: Stereocracy is the debut album from NYC 3 piece The Attorneys, and is intended to demonstrate how fresh musical and lyrical ideas can change the music world’s landscape. Recently named as having one of the Top 25 Demos of 2006 by Music Connection Magazine, Stereocracy is the band’s first official release. Formed in early 2006 by veterans of the NYC and Fresno music scenes, and named after the Attorney St. outside NYC hotspot Sin-e, The Attorneys are influenced by classic bands such as The Police and Queen as much as they are by modern acts such as Weezer and The Strokes, and those influences are heard throughout Stereocracy. The album opens with On A Whim a love song in which lead singer/bassist William Ryan George delivers wonderful melodies with a voice reminiscent of Freddie Mercury. In Open Up guitarist John Wlaysewski and drummer Ken Weisbach show their range by creating a dance track for William to flex his vocal muscle over. The first single off the album, Stay is guitar riff driven track about love and infidelity and it might have the catchiest chorus you hear all year. Other highlights on Sterocracy include the trippy Poppies, the second single Madison, the piano driven Anytime, and the album closes with the 8 minute epic Not A Bad Way to Spend An Evening. Stereocracy was produced by Graham Moore (The States) and mastered by Nathan James (The Bravery, Cartel). By combining the best elements of old and new, The Attorneys have created an album full of hooks and surprises while still sounding familiar and accessible. The Attorneys have not only passed the musical bar, they’ve raised it. Please contact:
