The music will never stop. Local/underground music scenes city to city never sleep. Once a band gets off the stage, they begin workin' on the next show. They play for nearly nothing and at many times end up losing money for 20 or 30 minutes of pouring their hearts, fears, anger, love and creativity... their everything out on the stage to entice and capture the crowd into taking in something new. All in the hopes that they get only as much as a single person who relates and feels the artists on an unconditional level of connection and understanding. Just to know that they enjoyed the music.
Label5150 Would like to see bands getting the respect and help they need to keep doing what they love. Which is not getting used by those simply out to exploit bands to make a buck for their own pocket and call themselves a music promoter. Be honest... either promote music and the artist,
which means PROMOTE, not just throw your name on THEIR show flyer and collect money for being a promoter or production company. Actually making and passing out flyers, demos, merch or simply going out and talking with people about the shows you back.
Or say you offer production or booking or whatever it is you intend to do, nothing more... for a "small nominal fee" and offering even smaller effort in making it a successful night of music.
In an effort to aid in the continuation and growth of local/underground music... "Label5150" works to make sure bands, clubs/venues and production companies have support in promoting the shows to get people out to the performances to build followings and generate revenue to all sides. To keep the music scene alive and well.
Promoting your band can be hard work. From getting out the flyers, playing the shows, getting the merch out on the streets and the demos playing. Help from friends and family to street teams and other bands can keep the crowds growing and progress of your band moving forward.
