The Uprise Collective (NEEDS A DRUMMER)

JOURNEYS TO THE ENDS OF EMOTION PLACES WISDOM

About Me

The Uprise Collective was born of a cosmic egg in cosmic waters. This is nothing but true, but those are the words of a traitor. We were all there, but no one even knows when the Collective was formed. Perhaps it was at some point in 1999, or 2000. Perhaps it was long before any of us were born. The memories of its conception and birth are blurred by the haze of debauchery and neglected by a slothful spirit, and as such, the given instants that would form the recollection of a sane man have melded into a living force, neither past nor future but always present that dwells in the pit of the stomach. A collective consciousness of a Sacramento summer that never ended. Poisoned by the treachery of traitors, doused in alcohol and set aflame, it has survived through the years of our lives and shall live long past our deaths.

If there is a history of the Uprise Collective, it is this: everyone who had the chance to betray us or add obstacles to our path has done so. There has been no love from the outside, only hatred, jealousy, fear and spite. We have watched our own flesh and blood betray us and turn their backs. We have withstood the wrath of a thousand Judases. Any cause not ordained by cosmic forces and not guarded by formidable and worthy defenders would have fallen into ruin under the weight of such perpetual animosity. But I tell you the Collective stands, unafraid. 2007 marks the end of the era of sloth and despair and the beginning of the era of our good works. The energies and loves and hatreds pent up over these countless years are to be mercilessly released upon the world. We don’t know what will happen as a result, but for those who fear it, and those who writhe in disgust at the thought of our victory, we do not apologize-- because it is inevitable.

Music is a sacred thing to the Uprise Collective. Its raw power is rivaled only by love itself. Nuclear bombs may obliterate bodies and buildings, but music can uplift the soul and make you experience sensations and see visions that cannot be rivaled by anything in the physical world. As such, our mission is to bring music into this world. Good, honest music from the heart to be heard by the people. To bring joy, communication and understanding into the lives of our brethren around the world. We want to demonstrate once again that music can be more than mindless advertising, more than just mere entertainment. We wish to demonstrate the superiority of music with heart, soul and meaning. The Uprise Collective would like our music to enhance and help to define the best moments of your lives, and to be a source of solace in times of desperation and need. We would like our music to inspire positive action as well as other artistic ventures and in short to be a collected work of goodness. Of by and for the people. To this end we pledge our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
