My name is Heretic and I am a 33 year old photographer and digital artist located in Stow, Ohio. Although I have been incorporating photography and digital art into my work for a very short period of time, I have a lifetime of experience as both an artist and misanthropist. I use photography and digital art now to create images that are both incredibly beautiful and terribly menacing. The darker side of the artist has always appealed to me. Like the lunatic scratching at the skin until its red secret is revealed, so to the artists emotions and nightmares come to the surface. Each in turn spilling out their story into the observers eyes, and haunting their memories forever.
My current passions are alternative pin-ups and on the darker end of the spectrum, creating horrific images that both arouse and terrify. I also enjoy experimenting with Chiaroscuro in my work, using it to weave subtle atmosphere into each piece. The delicate balance between light and shadow in my work is an emulation of the eternal struggle, what is known...what is hidden. It is armed with this premise that I set out to expose those things hidden in the shadow. The fear and the sin are revealed to unsuspecting eyes
Some of my deepest influences are derived from Chad Michael Ward, H.R. Geiger, Anton LaVey and H.P. Lovecraft as well as a myriad of fine Satanic artists. Recently I have been made a staff photographer for the website Deviant Nation, and also, Old Nick Magazine.
