I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I have an itch where I do not wish to scratch. My brain is constantly regurgitating the pollution it's marred with from all the audio and visual garbage that floats around our world. I find happiness in solitude, travel, and wine. I'm a lover of books ... and travel. I want to act until I die ... which I will eventually do ... but hopefully not right now, I'm busy. I water my plants with vodka, it stunts their growth a little, but they sing and reproduce more often.

My Interests

I like everything ... Outdoors, indoors, outer space ... I guess that covers everything. Being a Buddhist I also like to say Nam-myoho-renge-kyo alot ... ask me about it.

I'd like to meet:

Jewish Squid people who argue speciously that their religious beliefs Trump those of the Christian Shark people. Also I would like to meet people who nose the meaning of the word olfactory.

Music:

There is no one category of music I like more than another. I listen to everything from Bethoven's 5th to Ice Cube's Death Certificate album. I guess you develop an eclectic taste for music when half of your family is in the military, and the other half are artists.

Movies:

Stand By Me, The Jerk, The Life and Times of Andrew Quinn (This may be a bit narcassistic of me, but ... I'm in it so of course I like it), Glory, and more recently, Thank you for Smoking.

Television:

Yeah ... Television really bugs me. I watch it when I want to turn off my brain ... and yet I wouldn't be opposed to working on a television show ... hmmm, quite the contradiction. I love The West Wing, I enjoy the original CSI (Mostly just William Peterson), and uhm ... yeah that's it.

Books:

Chesapeake, Harry Potter series, The Writings of Nicheren Daishonin, The Covenant, Hawaii (yes I like Michener, get over it), anything by Dave Barry, Sherlock Holmes series, The Illiad, The Oddesy, anything by Aristophanes, and many more ...

Heroes:

Cindy, My mom, Martin Sheen, and anyone who never gives up on what they believe in.

Bad Bush, No cookie!

Only in LA

Today I heard a story about how Car Washes in the LA area were grossly underpaying their employees, in some cases paying them as little as $2 an hour, or having them just work for tips. In order to do...

Are we political Lemmings?

I was listening to the Radio the other day, an addiction I am all too inclined to nurse. One of the news stories was about how Bill Richardson, New Mexico’s Governor, and former White House & we...

Global Warming Anyone?

I have a problem with the term "Global Warming". I may be the only liberal in the world who does right now, but there it is, I hate the term "Global Warming"! It's an inaccura...

Is there Life on Mars? Or will we be left with nothing but Ashes?

Recently because of my lovely wife's encouragement, I have become hooked on British Television. In fact I find the average Brit Episodic a million times more interesting than anything we have here in ...

Racism, Gender, and Politics

All right I told myself I wasn't going to do it & but I'm going to do it. I'm going to touch on the topic of politics and racism, and in the process quite possibly piss some people off, but after what...
