Am currently the Guitarist for System Shit , a long running Halifax crust punk band that has relocated to Vancouver and reverted to a more straight up hardcore style of punk (think more U.K. '82 and less cookie monster vocs, lol), i also get to do some singing in the band including backups and lead on a couple...i used to have the most generic punk rock nickname (RAT) now i have the most generic blues name...I like cats (one is sitting on me as i type), i like Fenders (esp. Stratocasters)......Have died a couple times but am still here m. fookers!...i live for music, i like Russian authors, and some of the French existentialists, i love Louis ferdinand Celine's first 2 books (before he became a very dodgey character) and wish more people had read them...oh and Kafka, can't forget Kafka!....have been involved in Punk Rock in one way or another pretty much my whole life...i really dig Bob Dylan....i think the movie "Withnail and I" is brilliant as is "How to Ahead In Advertising" & "Down By Law"...Tom Waits at The Orpheum as well as Dylan in that same venue were 2 of the best shows i have ever attended...G.B.H. at fou founes & sub hum ans in Seattle were good ones too as were the u.k. subs in Bellingham (the 3 of us were the only punks there who knew who they were so got to drink for super cheap with the band all nite, Charlie was and still is a class act)...also the bad brains, with h.r. in the 90's outside of calgary was amazing ...the ramones played that same nite too and were their usual amazing selves (so glad to know that i got to see them the few times i did).,..i should also add 4 commodore gigs that stand out, one was d.o.a. another was toots and the maytals first show there in the 90's, the violent femmes there in '91 or '92 and shane macgowan and the popes first show...were all very memorable...(i had just seen the pogues without shane 2 weeks or so before at the commodore and shane blew them off the same stage, even as drunk as he was)...apparently 2 days before shane had collapsed onstage in t.o. after 2 songs...but it seems the rest agreed with him and this was also the final show of the tour, because he gave it his all enunciating every word and screaming like a banshee...you could tell he was enjoying himself, as usual accepting drinks and lit smokes from us in the pit...(b.t.w. he was just starting to get a tiny bit of a beer belly back then, lol)...hmmmm...i used to work at Vancouvers best tiny independant falafel stand (r.i.p.), and still eat the stuff regularly....and well i don't know what else to say...i hate the present political state of the world and if you are racist, homophobic or sexist go somewhere else, this is not the profile for you.
You Are Whiskey
You're a tough drinker, and you take it like a man
That means no girly drinks for you - even if you are a girl
You prefer a cold, hard drink at the end of the day
Every day, in fact. And make that a few.
What Alcoholic Drink Are You?
