About Me

So here I am starting my second year here in the DC area, I've got the Metro all figured out, I still wander the streets wide-eyed with wonder (looking like a tourist except for my ID badge), but now when the tourist ask, I can point them to here they want to go. Work is work, but I'm on a good career path it seems. I've met some fellow true-hearted technoheads here, and it's all starting to sink in that this is a place I can call home for a good while!
So about me.. in a nutshell: I try to live a life of Zen, maintain harmony with the Tao, stay aware of the infinite trans-mutability of energy, while exploring the limitless creativity of my reason. I seem to lose touch with "it" in dealing with the trials and tribulations of daily life more often than I like, but I always find my way back. I am incredibly if not obsessively introspective and analytical about life and reality. I think too much about the nuances of everything. But beyond driving myself completely nuts at times and the times where I'm at a disconnect, there are times where think I have a truly have a grasp at what life and reality are really about.
So I keep plugging along, write down the thoughts that matter most, and hopefully will be able to share them in a book that will be able to help influence the direction this crazy little planet we call "ours" is currently moving in.
Simple things like birds singing, sunsets, moon-rises, stars, frogs chirping, and crickets crikking make me happy. And I LOVE to dance!
The video below is fun and most definitely groooovy, and the song to the left is from a good friend of mine back in Detroit. He was commissioned to do a remix of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's performance of Stravinsky's Rite Of Spring. I've always said that techno and classical are so similar in so many ways! Ya gotta love Detroit! »-(¯..v´&# ;175;)-» «-(¯..v´&# ;175;)-«

My Interests

Electronic Music, Throwing Down on the Dancefloor, Eastern and Western Philosophy, Quantum Theory, Martial Arts, Photography, Nature, Travel

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who can understand these thoughts inside my head. Oh, and a leprechaun, too, or maybe a genie in a magic lamp! Yeah, that's the ticket!

Music:

Can't get enough of that Country and Cock Rock! (yeah right!) Pretty much everything but those. I go from Classical to Techno (www.paxahau.com), Jazz, Blues, Ska, Reggea, Industrial, some intelligent Hip-Hop like Digable Planets, bands and artists such as Pink Floyd, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead, Beck (who's newest album totally kicks ass), and I also just discovered The Postal Service (sweet!). And the other random bands and artists here and there that have proved or prove they can go beyond the mindless, commercial, cookie-cutter crap that MTV and radio likes to try to convince us that is hip and cool, but is seriously NOT.

Movies:

Waking Life, Baraka, Pi, Ghost in the Shell, Modulations, Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Matrix Trilogy, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Beautiful Days, Hero, House of Flying Daggers, The Blair Witch Project, Slacker, Batman Begins, Kinsey, Fight Club, Thank You For Smoking, Memoirs of a Geisha and there's a lot of other films out there that when mentioned would get an, "Oh yeah!" in a non Kool-Aid Man kind of way.

Television:

Television is the Devil! A mind sucking device robbing us from any if not all imagination and creativity, but anyway... Yeah, I waste hours of my life watching it at times, too, unfortunately. PBS rules!!! And Fuk commercial bullshit! It's down right scary to see the crap that people are watching on television these days! And I will admit, I do miss watching The Daily Show with John Stewart and LOST now that I'm living without cable.

Books:

The World's Religions, Beyond Good & Evil, Physics and Philosophy, Venus in Furs, The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, Sacred Mirrors, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Illusions, The Metaphysics of Morals, Taking the Quantum Leap, Siddhartha, The Tao of Physics, "I Come As A Brother," Meditation in Action, The PreHistory of the Far Side, The Psychedelic Experience: A Manual Based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead, Brave New World, 1984

Heroes:

Spider-Man is a hero, right?..

What is techno? What is a pulse?

"What is techno?" you might ask, if you don't know already.  Well, it's hard to explain it in words, but let me try.  "Techno" is a sound, a rhythm, a feeling...  Something more  ...

"Before you add me..."

Okay, the following are not my words, but the words of my good and wise friend Kevin McHugh. I found them amusing many moons ago when I first read them, and now that I am getting more random add reque...

Messages are NOT Comments

Honestly, I think people who put comments on people's pages like, "Hi! Thanks for the add!" or "Haven't heard from you in a while. How are you? Just wanted to say hi" or similar things that are mes...

I usually think these things are stupid, but this actually does fit me rather well, except for the quiet nature making it difficult for people to know me. All people need to do is ask... You...
