About Me

'IN A NUTSHELL' ~or~ 'ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER':In the fall of 1972, at age 11, I saw a kid from my class (first name Steve) carrying a guitar across school grounds. I thought to myself "oh yeah", and hinted to my dad, who recruited my cousin John to help pick out a guitar for me for Christmas. Then, in 1980 John Lennon's voice was silenced forever, and my then girlfriend Felicia could not stop crying (for 3 weeks), so I suggested we form a band to continue John's message (and also to calm her down). We formed 'Damon' which begat 'The Morocco Moles'.Then, in 1982, I answered an ad in 'Good Times' magazine, from a guitarist who was looking to form a band with influences including 'The Stray Cats' and 'X', and thus met Mark Lipinsky. We formed 'Basic Black', which begat 'Pink Rodeo', and 'Lipinsky Lipinsky Lipinsky'. Later in that same year, Mark introduced me to a local band he followed named 'The Mosquitos'.Then, in 2003, Vance, formerly of The Mosquitos, called me to play with Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone (peternoone.com). Every good sitcom should eventaully wind up in Hawaii before it jumps the shark, so in 2004 Vance and I went to Hawaii and performed with Don Ho.Today I play in many musical situations, including: 'Good Clean Fun', my party/wedding/dance band (gcfmusic.com), and with 'Brock & Abrams' featuring Bobby Abrams of 'The Buckinghams' (myspace.com/brockandabrams), and with Sonny Geraci of 'The Outsiders' and 'Climax' (sonnygeraci.com). Additional résumé credits include: The Coasters (Carl Gardner's), The Chiffons (starring Judy Craig), The Reflections, The Drifters (featuring Charlie Thomas), Bobby Lewis, and Gene Chandler.
