~A hand to inflict pain and joy; A mind to create and destroy~

About Me

Hi there! I am a broad minded, headstrong, honest and down to earth person looking to make new friends and chat to like-minded people. That is anyone who is a little different, interesting, intriguing, passionate, and outgoing. But I'll be realistic enough to know that hell, I am not likely to find a mind quite on the crazy scale of mine anytime soon on this planet!
Although I was born and educated in England, I am half Swiss and speak both Swiss and German fluently. Throughout my childhood I was regularly flying over there (up to 4 times a year for periods of up to 8 weeks), staying with grandparents; and from as young as 5 I was flying by myself, looked after only by flight staff but loving it!! So there was already quite a strong minded and independent streak to me, you could say!
I'm quite creative; I love writing (poetry mainly), love and appreciate the natural beauty of things like scenery, landscapes, the sea and the sky at night, sunrise and sunset. Plus, of course, I find a big part of myself in FASHION AND MUSIC!! I am a fashion and music diva with a twist! I love my clothes but create my own trends, with all the imagination, passion and creativeness of the Pisces! I also love to dance and I can be quite a wild child when I'm lost in music...and the hidden depths of my own world!!
I do carry a strong head on my shoulders (I think a hell of a lot for one!!), but I hold a soft and sensitive heart (and feel a hell of a lot for two). I'm very strong willed and determined when it is called for, but I am also quite a shy and quiet person in reality. I can be quite stubborn, intense and tend bear the hallmark of thinking too much! I am a perfectionist, but I know that I am not perfect; I have my insecurities, probably more so than many on a deeper level. I am quite (OK very!) conflicting and contradicting, maybe more paradoxical in many respects. I regard myself as someone with quite high sensitivity and receptiveness. Being very much a Pisces, I am a true chameleon - mutable and infinitely complex.
I know that my strong mind, which is often at war with my heart, is the essence of the conflict, contradictions and complexities within me, but I also know that it is all together part of what makes an intellectual, passionate, spiritual, observant, receptive, deep and strong person. The mind is like an abyss, an abyss of depth... boundless. The many thoughts, sometimes like sparks and glints, which hold so much, probably the most power and knowledge, are those which are so hard to grab and to capture into words, explanation and forms of expression. I think so much, at times it almost physically hurts! I am so often questioning things, and asking questions for which there are no answers, or no simple way of defining. Although it is no uncommon thing to question the meaning of life, what I find myself questioning is not even that, or why I am here and what I am here to find. I see the more primitive, instinctive, animal perspective, the basis of procreation, but I do not believe that there is truly an answer to the deeper elements, which is what gives life meaning truly in the human world, other than it has to be found within each and everyone of us uniquely within our soul. There is no simple meaning, only what we experience, see, feel, belief and design and construct into a reality. And a reality is only within a perception. Life is a state of mind...
Now I have my weird tendencies too, seeing as I did say I was honest! I have a crazed Pepsi addiction, especially to Pepsi Max! I drink at least two litres a day at present, and I am not even going to mention any attempts to kick this habit! I am the epitome of the extremes of the addictive personality! I also dip crisps in Pepsi (forget salsa dip!!!), and I like to drink orange squash neat or mixed with other squash! Well, at least I'm honest!!!
My pet hates are shallowness, presumptuousness, ignorance, jealousy, hypocrisy/double standards, pretense/falseness, superficiality, egocentricity and arrogance. I also despise prejudice (like the narrow mindedness I all too often witness, and am often on the receiving end of, from uneducated people in my hometown); people with the one dimensional conceptualisation (or put simply, DUMB) who don't utilise their minds to think or see a little deeper or further, but judge someone they know nothing about as a person, and try with every effort to bring down anyone or anything a little bit different, or outside of their 'boxed-in', flat and unventured mentality and ideas. Ironically, it is the amount of falseness, prejudice and shallowness I come across all the time that brings home the truths; just how clear it is that those who know nothing sure as hell know it the most fluently. The smaller mind is always the louder judge; and in shallow puddles prejudice will always be the raft onto which the shipwrecked mind clambers and paddles to safety!
I think, many a time when I feel down, how much brighter a day could be if people were just nice, and opened up their minds just a little!!! It is so simple, it costs nothing, yet it can make all the difference, and the world that much nicer to live in! The amount of plain, and totally unjustified, rudeness and nastiness I come across every day never ceases to amaze me! We all have our burdens in life, and many hearts secret sorrows that the world knows not, so why make life any harder by being cruel and nasty to people we know not?
Finally, I must also mention another thing which has really started to irritate me - the amount of people checking out my profile who then message me with the big pretentious 'I-really-got-into-your-profile' act, then only to ask simple or really obvious questions that are already clearly answered in my profile! It's just so annoyingly dumb. The whole point of sites like these is to read the profile first and THEN to message the person if you are interested! There is a difference between looking and seeing, and I am interested in communicating with those who see with their minds as well as their eyes!
A person without depth, diversity and broadness of mind is a word without meaning and a soul unventured...
My motto in life: Be the exclamation mark, not the full stop!

I'd like to meet:

Any passionate, GENUINE/REAL, HONEST and confident people to bring me out of my shell! I enjoy being around people who are fun and outgoing, but who also have deeper side to them; people with style, intelligence and a bit of an edge, but who also have their feet, and egos, on the ground and, like me, are quite down to earth at heart! I do like people who have some backbone, who are not of 'sheep' or 'generic' mentality, or your common cardboard cutout/wannabes with more mouth and ego than mind and actions, but people who have a good, true voice, eye, mind and opinion of their own. I also value people who are straight forward and don't play games. Basically I admire and respect those those who are strong in spirit and character; not afraid to assert themselves, are honest in their thoughts/ideas, feelings and beliefs in life, but are also not afraid to admit their downfalls and insecurities. In addition, anyone who also LOVES music, fashion or writing, or who has an appreciation of art, the beauty in nature, and the simple pleasures and the true greatness and value of the small things that money can't buy.Of course, men with Peter Andre, Michael Owen, David Beckham, Ne-Yo or Pharrell Williams looks are more than welcome too ;)!!Thanks for stopping by!

Music:

I have an incredibly diverse taste in music, music is the air I breath; it is my oxygen, and without music my heart would not beat!!! I could write a book on my musical ear, it reflects my mind; the complexity that is the diversity and contrasts and contradictions! It also reflects PASSION; it's all about the mood and emotions, and how it makes you feel and think when you are in the music! House forms a huge part of my music diet! I have MANY House collections, HED KANDI being a significant one! I absolutely LOVE my funky, deep, darker, and Soulful House, as well as Lounge! I have many 'In The House' collections featuring artists such as Masters At Work and Soulfuric! I also have quite a collection of mixes by various DJs, one old time favourite House DJ is Danny Rampling. Just a few other favoured DJs include: DJ Gregory and Joey Negro (House), and DJ Tiesto for my Trance taste buds!

In addition to House, other genres, which form a big part of my music library, include: RnB, Soul, Funk, Experimental, Electronica, Down Tempo, D&B, Hip-Hop, Speed Garage/Garage, Trance, 70s/80s/90s classics (quite a big 80s selection also), as well as New Age/Ambient/Classical (Enya especially), Smooth Jazz, Jazz Vocal, and also Latin/Romance (I'm a sucker for Julio Iglesias at times)... One example demonstrating my appreciation of music across different genres is the many remixes of certain songs I have; for example, a rap or a house remix (either of an entire song or just the background tune) of classical rhythms, vocals, or other classic hits of the decades.

I am a girl of varied tastes and my music collection, in all its diversity, reflects that. I am alive for music, it's in my soul and I am ALWAYS listening to something, even as I go to sleep!!

I have finally added some customised Personal MP3 Players to my page, including playlists featuring random examples of just some of my favourite tunes, spanning across various genres and pretty much reflecting my universal taste in music!

In Diverse Playlist One are 84 varied grooves; anything from R&B, Hip-Hop, D&B, Trance, Garage, House/funky/deeper, classic hits of the decades, to smooth Jazz! I will be regularly updating playlists/adding the tunes I am most listening to.Note: The music may take a few seconds to load/buffer.

I made this MySpace Music Player at MyFlashFetish .com.

Diverse Playlist 2, containing 45 more varied grooves, to swing, sing or chill, reflect and relax to!

And just a few more selected grooves! Happy listening!

Movies:

Once again, DIVERSE! In a day it could be ranging from gory horrors like 'Saw 2' or 'Creep', to suspense thrillers like 'Flightplan' (wicked film!), to the hilarious comedies of 'Fat Sh*ts' and 'Soul Plane', to romantic classics like 'Pretty Woman' and 'Ghost'!Also, anything with Jim Carrey in it can't fail with me; loved 'The Mask', 'Bruce Almighty' and 'Ace Ventura'!! I am a fan of Stephen King adaptions and chillers; 'The Shining' is another classic that I love.I also rate Steve Martin and Robin Williams in terms of comedy movie/actor successes!Other favourite movies, some quite old but classic, include: 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory' (old and new versions); 'Donnie Darko'; 'The Rear Window' (Alfred Hitchcock); 'Beaches'; 'Notting Hill'; 'Terms of Endearment'; 'Il Postino'; 'Life is Beautiful'; 'The Man With Two Brains'; 'Carrie'; 'The Exorcism Of Emily Rose'; 'Indecent Proposal'; 'Working Girl'; 'Liar Liar'; 'Son Of The Mask'; 'The 40 Year Old Virgin'; 'Sleeping With The Enemy'; 'Father Of The Bride'; 'Bridget Jones's Diary'....and many many more!!! Television:

Quite a diverse taste here too!Comedy (stand up): Frank Skinner, Jasper Carrott, Lee Evans, Billy Connolly, Jo Brand, Jack Dee, Eddy Murphy, Victoria Wood, Johnny Vegas and Harry Enfield. I also love prank shows: Trigger Happy TV rocks (Dom Jolly at his best!), Fonejacker (on E4)is a total classic, and Three Non Blondes is another favourite. Other favourite entertainers are David Blaine and Alistair Mcgowan.Soap operas: Eastenders and Hollyoaks!Other TV interests include: Chat shows, current affairs, documentaries (I love fly on the wall stuff as well as biographies), reality shows, nature, human nature/psychology programmes; I enjoy the various science/psychology/human nature and biology BBC programmes presented by Professor Robert Winston.I must also mention the many shopping channels!!!The little kid in me LOVES cartoons such as Looney Tunes, Garfield and The Simpsons, as well as MANY Disney classics :)! Books:

Hmmmmmmm, I read many magazines and research many things, which constitutes most of my reading.... But I do enjoy a good book by Stephen King though! I have also just started reading a really good book, based on a true story: Constance Briscoe, 'UGLY'. MyGen Profile Generator

Heroes:

Well, my one big inspiration was and still is Princess Diana...truly one of a kind! She had an amazing effect on people, and possessed a great gift in being able to connect with people. I personally had never met her, but gained an insight into her life and background, having read many of her books, and her personal biographies, as well as having viewed many television broadcasts/documentaries, and I know that I could relate to and understand many of her complexities and emotions, which enabled me to have a greater sense of her as a person. She was an incredibly courageous and strong young woman who made such a difference to so many lives, simply from within her heart; and in coming from a life that lacked any real love, stability and care, she created it and touched the world with it, which is an amazing thing! The simplest things that come from the heart make such a difference - a kind word, a hug, a smile, unconditional acceptance and not judging, giving your time to others, and just being there to listen and to feel can have the greatest effects on the hearts and souls of others, especially those in need. She was truly special, not to mention beautiful with it. She had such charisma. Her death (which in my opinion was no accident, and where I feel there was a great injustice) was a huge loss to a world that desperately needs people like her in it!! Life is not about status, race, age, gender, religion or creed, but the effect that you have upon others' lives, and whose hearts you touch or poison!! MyGen Profile GeneratorRIP Princess Diana
