TroubleSum...GOT IT ON LOCK!!!

About Me

TroubleSum is the most dangerous weapon the Hip Hop world has seen in years! With an effortless delivery of lyrics written by this living, breathing, walking paradox, she's certain to alter the hip hop scene. TroubleSum (Born Tabitha Grant) was raised as a "Preacher's Kid" and knew very little about the world of rap. At just 9, TroubleSum attended her brother's high school functions where he would mix and perform which introduced her to Hip Hop music. Taking an interest in this new scene, she began to write and perform Christian raps at her Father's church. After a life-altering event at the age of 13, this young lady learned the streets rather quickly. What used to be going to church Wednesday and Sunday was now hanging out on the block free styling Friday nights. "I remember it like it was yesterday, we would stand on the corner and listen to screw and just freestyle, I would be the only girl rapping with a group of hustlers."Making a name for herself by entering in freestyle contest around her hometown, Houston, Texas, she felt rap was her true calling. TroubleSum is featured on such collaborations as the album "Ghetto Classic's" with such song's as "Gimme that Thang" and "Trouble in this World", featured on Grammy Award Winner, Chamillionarie's Texas Extended Remix of "Won't Let U Down", Music World’s Lil J Xavier on the song "We got Next" which became the ANTHEM for the WNBA's Houston Comet's, the underground mix tape "GO DJ's Presents: The Movement Vol. 1", Trae tha Truth's "Streets of the South", Cory Mo’s "Houston's Most Unknown" hosted by DJ Smallz. An impressive performance by the ONLY female on the roster of the nationally distributed "HIP HOP LIFE" DVD (In stores NOW!!!!!!! ) lead her to be the opening act for Young Jeezy, Fat Joe, Trina and Rick Ross. Her inspiration includes such artist as Tupac Shakur, Jimmy Hendricks, and the Gospel group The Clark Sisters. These artists influenced her writing ability, and like them, she strives to reach her own legendary status. "I will hold stead fast to my vision, and never comprise myself respect.” With a distinguished sound and intimidating lyrics, you know Trouble is on the way and what you see isn't always what you get!*Conquering New Territory*Expanding her already impressive resume, TroubleSum took to the roof as she was featured on Rap City "SPIT YO GAME" in May of 2008. B.E.T not only introduced this Young Star nationally as a rap artist, She took on the role of Shelly in the Mike Jones Biopic “The American Dream" which aired on BET in 2007 opening the door for TroubleSum to introduce a steady growing list of talents. She has since played the role of the "Head Assassin" in an Independent film tilted "Waters Rising" and is currently in production on “Against Everything” with Trae and the ABN Gang, a film sure to be a street classic.TroubleSum is filming a reality show titled "Da Grind." along with Murphy Lee in which the show follows the rising star as she grinds to achieve the much deserved success in the Entertainment industry. She is currently featured in the February and March issue of Ozone magazine and has a featured article in April 2008’s Sizurp Magazine.Make sure you pick up the Hottest Hip Hop DVD "HIP HOP LIFE" with live performances by Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, TroubleSum, Fat Joe and many more. TROUBLESUMMy influence and greatest inspiration is Jesus Christ. In due time I'll be able to get off the boat and walk on water!!! (Philippians 4:13)Musically I'm influenced by the Greatest MC to touch the MIC Mr. Tupac Shakur, as well as Jay Z. I guess you can say my style is a compilation of both legends. I grew up on Houston's Legends DJ Screw, Fat Pat (RIP), Big Hawk (RIP), the whole SUC, SCARFACE, Ghetto Boyz, Street Military. Other rap artist that inspire me are Nas, JadaKiss, Styles P, Beanie Segal,Kadafi,Lil Wayne,Talib,Andre' 3000, LudaChris, T.I....I'm HONORED to be mention amongst the likes of THE Greatest FEMALE MC'S that BLESSED the Mic and paved the way for artist like myself!!!! There would be no me without SHA ROCK, MC LYTE, Queen Latifah, Shante Roxanne, Salt and PepPa, Lauryn Hill,Foxy Brown, LIL Kim, Shawna, Remy Ma, Trina, Mia X, I can keep going...lol Other musical influence's outside of Hip Hop include the gospel group Clark Sisters, Jimi Hendrix, Sade, and Beyonce Knowles...I'm such an "Independent Woman" hence the bossy attitude!!!To all my LADIES that's grindin and makin sacrifices for this, I RESPECTFULLY say keep pushin, and "Dream tha dream, fight life thru and at tha end see ya dream come true, NEVA give up, NEVA surrender, like Jigga tha ENCORE is what I'll give ya!!
