Johnson Silva
I’m from Recife, Brazil. I was introduced to the world of music when I was fifteen (1994) and began to play acoustic guitar. Three years later, when I was on vacation in my grandfather’s house, my life changed forever. My grandfather had an old keyboard and he let me play. Everyday I stayed with my grandfather, I played his keyboard. From the moment I first touched the piano, I knew I had found my passion.
Now, twelve years later, music has given me the chance to see the world. I have performed in many special places such as Paris, Japan, Germany, Arab Emirates and Brazil. Currently I’m playing jazz and Brazilian music in Dubai. I’m very happy with the music inside me. And I’m sure this is only the beginning.
In my first international tour (1997), I brought my music to Dubai.
In Recife (Brasil) , October/2005, I’ve created my own trio, piano, bass and drums, called “Johnson Lee Trioâ€, at that time.
In 2007, I performed in Japan for 4 months, as a soloist and as a Duo.
Living in Dubai, since October/2007 , and thinking about the international music market , I decided change my name to Johnson Silva , my last family name. It sounds better as a brazilian musician’s name.
One of my current projects is to finish my debut album this year: “Homelessâ€, with tracks recorded in Dubai, Japan and Brazil.
One of my life’s ambition is to do some GIGs with Jane Monheit. Will this become a reality? Maybe yes, Maybe not. But, I will try my best!
