Jenee naturally absorbs the attention so many modern artists struggle to keep. Her soulful, richly textured vocals are revered on the national music scene and her lyrics are empowering to those she has already reached. She gleans the best from her gospel roots, funk & soul inspirations and alternative spirit. Her debut solo album (due to be released in the spring of 2008) is an eclectic mix of the old and new.Recently Jenee has been backing up UK's Omar Lyfook on his US tours. In the past she has been a featured vocalist for many bands including 'Suttle Thoughts', 'J. Michael & Company' and 'Congregation'; she also lead the rock/soul band, 'Alternate Root'. Jenee has performed extensively along the east coast, in NYC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Baltimore, Richmond and North Virginia, as well as in her hometown of Washington, DC, including local venues like The Nissan Pavilion, The 9:30 Club, The Baltimore Convention Center, Nations, The Black Cat, Zanzibar, and more.Jenee has caught the attention of major recording artists, opening for such acts as Kool & The Gang, The Gap Band, Talib Kweli, De La Soul, Me'Shell N'degeocello, Robert Randolph, Everclear, The Meters, Bic Runga, Tom Tom Club and Basshead to name a few. For her solo effort she teamed up with composer/producer, Nickita, to bring you a body of work truly to be proud of.
