About Me
Chris "Fish" plays keyboards with British neo-soul legend Omar, The Funk MVP's, J-Funk, nu-soul upcomers Black I, as well as Saxual Harrisment, Lil' Bastad, Live Funk Nouveau, Skin Tight, New York City Swing, and The Temptations. Past excursions have included stints with Blood Sweat &Tears, Atlantic Starr, Cuba Gooding &The Main Ingredient, The Delphonics, and The Sony r&b House Band. When not performing, Chris professionally arranges for TV specials and live concerts and produces artists, both instrumental and vocal. Recently he wrote horn arrangements for Dr. John, James Taylor, Shirley Caesar, Mary Mary, Anthony Hamilton, and Smokey Robinson, courtesy of friend and associate Ray Chew, of "Showtime at the Apollo" notoriety. CBS' NFL Today,
Maury Povitch, John Edwards, and Montel Williams regularly feature clips produced by Chris as well. When not behind the black and whites, Fish can be found playing drums in various jazz groups or slapping a bass at St. Paul's Baptist Church with CeCe Rogers, John Legend, and Donny McClurkin. But through it all, Fish's most considerable talent lies in his music programming and production. Drummers have been known to ask "who's the drummer?" when hearing his work.
Capturing a live feel in electronic music is not an easy feat, but Chris can't resist the challenge. Chris attributes his gift in that area to growing up in a house full of different instruments and listening intently to his many talented friends while playing live shows--or having no money for real studio time back in the day. Whichever.
