"I'll steal your honey like I stole your bike!!"

About Me

Fusing Soul, Rock, Folk and Blues into a sound all his own Jason-Michael has become the artist to watch. Influenced by the likes of Prince, David Bowie, Richie Havens, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Marvin Gaye, Sting and Curtis Mayfield, it is no surprise that JM has developed a loyal multi-cultural audience in his native Washington, D.C. and in New York where the artist currently resides. Jason-Michael has also caught the attention of several established artists. He has opened for and shared the stage with Me'shell Ndegeocello, Fishbone, Eric Benet, Bic Runga, The Philosopher Kings and many others. So, what's next for this musician/singer/songwriter/producer/actor? "I want to conquer the world one stage at a time and get a little closer to achieving my goal of being a Jeopardy question!"

here it comes again!!

That old feeling has returned! I wrote a song called "Lovely One" and recorded it Saturday afternoon. I think it's one of the most sophisticated songs I've ever written. When I write, I'm constantly t...

The funny thing about that......

Love is a very curious thing in my world. While I am single and have been for a while, it still finds it’s way into a lot of the songs that I write. I suppose that my memories of being in love a...

slave to the pretty

It's always interesting how the melodies that I listen to or write inform my mood or how I see myself in a given moment. For example, if I'm listening to or writing something moody, you'll most l...

The Grammys

That was probably the most scattered and boring award show I've watched in quite some time. There were some cool moments but, for the most part, it was a pretty sad affair. Thoughts, anyone?   O...

my favorite song.....so far!!

There are those moments for me, musically, where a tone is set for an interesting string of songs. Something about it seems to point you in a specific direction that you didn't anticipate. I live for ...

So, last night I was shaving my head and remembered a Native American custom that I used to do when my heart was aching. You go to the edge of a river take a stick or a leaf, give the said item the na...
