Bzoink - The Original Survey Site I am an accessory designer/artist/model who's dream is to create a fashion empire. Check out my website www.girlmischief.comGirl mischief is a Washington, DC based accessory company that focuses on signature detailing and an uncompromising standard of old world craftsmanship. Comprised of necklaces, bracelets, hair accessories and earrings, gm has an eclectic point of view that pairs the luxurious with the casual, creating a look that is always fashionable but never trendy.Washington, DC native Amanda Greene is the creative force behind gm. A graduate of the American College in London with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design, she has been designing for over 15 years, first as an interior designer and then under the tutelage of Lisa Taramino of Lisa Violetto Accessories in 1991. It was while there that Amanda began designing accessories that soon were being carried at I. Magnin and Nordstrom.In 1996 Amanda was recruited to work for Danchig Documentary Textile Studio based in New York as a Representative. While at Danchig, she worked with some of the top fashion houses, including Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Liz Claiborne and Joseph Aboud.After a 15 year absence from the DC area, Amanda returned ready to utilize her life and educational experiences. In 1999 she started modeling for T.H.E. Modeling Agency in DC. In 2000, she created a concept for a local magazine that focused on the emerging restaurant, applied and fine arts scene. The magazine was called Definition. Unfortunately the magazine folded just before it was going to put out the premier issue.Daunted but no jaded, she continued creative pursuits by creating jewelry that combined leather, suede and hardware accents. “I started designing jewelry out of my frustration of what was out there” says Amanda. As soon as she began to get notice for her unique pieces, Amanda started developing a line of accessories for women and men in 2001. In 2002, Amanda set out and presented her winter collection to positive reviews. Seeing the void for accessories "with a twist", she launched gm's web site, www.girlmischief.com and showcased her wares at several independent designer forums. Amanda recently participated in DC’s Fashion Week 07 as a vender as well as a sponsor for the event.
