Breed was founded by Maurice Adams and Damage Karlsen. Damage and Maurice played in Sundog together and after the demise of that band, split ways. They found back together after Damage had continously mailed Maurice his demos for months. They took the tapes to Espen P and Jammed it out. After that intense jam-session they knew they had something solid and Breed became a fact.
The making of the album saw the band spending countless days in the caravan Damage lived in situated right outside the studio, the loss of a leg (good one Maurice) the loss of a bass player and gallons of substance. Once done with the album they all moved to Oslo. Trying out several bass players they finally got Mads to pound for them making Mads an essential part of Breed.
Breed were picked up by FaceFront who released their first album. The album was recorded in Caliban studios(N) and mixed in Fredman studios(S). Even though the band kept on getting hit with great reviews, the band suffered the loss of a drummer, But they never stopped for a second. Breed played all their gigs, just like they had announced, only now they were using rented drummers, and drummers who were auditioning for the now open spot in Breed. Although there were a lot of talented drummers, they were not able to find the perfect one. Until they one day got an email from Erik Engebretsen, a professional freelance-drummer, and an old friend of Maurice. It didn't take many minutes of jamming before they all decided that Erik had to join Breed. With his immediate understanding of the music, the soul, power and groove he put into his drumming, and the person he is, made him the perfect fourth member for Breed. Now, a locked down and tight quartet, Breed is again writing music, and ready to kick your ass from a stage somewhere.
Keep the dream alive!
