bio:
Alisa was born on August 26th, 1988 in Tula, Russia. She was named after a Russian rock band so was destined for the crazy world of rock n' roll from the start.
As a child, Alisa was a very shy, preferring her own company as it was difficult for her to talk to new people and make friends. She was a keen artist from a young age and spent most of her time drawing and painting. Art school wasn't something that called out to her as she was afraid that this would stifle her own creativity.
Since just 9 years old with the music of Metallica firmly solidifying her love of metal and rock, her music collection only grew. The next addition to this was the nu metal stylings of Korn's Follow The Leader album. Keen to know what her favourite bands were singing about in their songs, she started to study English voluntarily and spent hours translating her favorite songs into Russian.
At 15 with Megadeth added to her growing music collection and eager to show off her new English skills, she enlisted the help of many droogies from the Megadeth boards to write and design a birthday book for Dave Mustaine. The book includes pictures and stories of people's Megadeth experiences and was loved so much by Dave that it brought the two together as friends.
With the help and encouragement of her brother, the teenage Alisa took up snowboarding and skating but after an accident caused her to damage her leg she decided to stop but still participated within the sport by making music videos for local skaters. This then progressed onto local music bands. After finishing school, she went on to Tula State University to study public relations. In her freshman year, she completed her first serious film which was about her friends.
Her passion for film making didn't get in the way of her art tho. She still painted and even created a couple of portraits for her artistic friends such as Dirty Donny, who has worked for Metallica and Greg Watermann, a rock star photographer.
Upon reaching adulthood at 18, Alisa urge to see the world took her to America where she spent a few months traveling around many different states. Whilst in New York she got the opportunity to met Korn. Upon meeting her, Jonathan Davis recognised Alisa from her email much to her delight and surprise:)
These days, Alisa spends her time doing modeling and photography but she plans to continue her film making/photography and keep traveling as much as possible.
I first started talking to Alisa on the Megadeth boards in 2004 whilst contributing to the MegaBook and we quickly became friends. She was kind enough to give me one of theall access laminate pass she was given and I got to meet the band after the show. I didn't forget this act of kindness, asking the band to sign a Russian flag I'd designed for her. We've kept in touch over those few years, sending each other gifts and sharing stories, music and laughter. She is one of the sweetest, kindest and funniest people I have ever spoken to and although we have not met in person yet, I really hope to do so one day so I can give my little Russian Korn doll a big hug!
