As early as age two, her mother put a microphone to her mouth and recorded her singing hymns. By second grade, she sang her first solo and by 6th grade, was taught musical theory and classical voice by the concert choir director. She won soloist awards in the state of Louisiana in high school and attended the New Orleans Center of Creative Arts (N.O.C.C.A.) for voice, along side her sending school. She was asked to sing the national anthem for a Zepher's baseball game in front of 8,000 people, which was aired on the radio. In college, she became part of a vocal and dance troupe, in which she performed solos of hits from the decades across several states. She had written her first song in 3rd grade, but became more polished at it in college, as she learned to play the guitar. She played at songwriters nights in local coffee shops in the area. After college, she moved from New Orleans to Nashville to record her first album, cowrite songs, and perform them. She continues to write and sing in Nashville.
