Sounds Like: ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My music is a mixed blend of media, with inspirations taken from dreams, reggae, the sounds of jets, science fiction, nature, 1960's music, and conceptual ideas. Often times, my music is a reflection of what is happening in my life, or it's been composed to be part of a larger whole; that is, as part of an art exhibit or a live performance that includes interaction with the viewers, live performance, visual art, and multi-channel films or videos. The music I create tends to have a dream-like quality, which is not a goal, per se, but tends to become my destination.
I have always been process oriented. This might help explain my gravitation towards time-based media: video, film, music and sound, and live performance. My undergraduate degrees were visual art based, and I worked as a print-maker and painter. Working in print-making is very time consuming, process oriented, and creates multiples, much like the process of making a movie in film or video. The paintings I made in that era, were comprised of layers and layers of glazes, and often times related to other ideas I was working on in films and sound recordings. Outside of my visual arts studies, I was active in producing multi-channel film performances incorpoarting live sound jams, which led to pursuing a masters degree where I could include all of the above.
It's not my goal that everyone understand my visions, my concepts. What's more important, is that each viewer bring something of their own to add to what they see or hear.

Major Success!

Wheh! It's nice when a lot of work pays off, as it has for my new isolation recording booth! I have set up an arsenal of drums and cymbals, and successfully recorded my jams while bands are rehearsing...
