Shannon Emery Lee was born in Santa Monica, California on April 19, 1969. Her father, Bruce Lee, died when she only was four years old. As a child, she lived in California and Hong Kong until finally settling in Los Angles area in 1974.
In 1987, Shannon moved to New Orleans where she attended Tulane University. Here Shannon earned a B.F.A. in Vocal Performance, and appeared in numerous musicals, operas, and choral concerts. In 1993 Shannon returned to Los Angles to pursue an acting career.
She first appeared on the television show Martial Law which starred Sammo Hung. In 2000 she appeared in the science-fiction television film Epoch which aired on the Sci Fi Channel.
Shannon has acted in a few low budget films in the 1990s such as Cage II (1994), High Voltage (1997) and Enter the Eagles (1998). High Voltage would provide Shannon with her first major role in a motion picture. She also had brief appearances in her father's biopic Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (singing California Dreamin'), and another brief apperance in the film Blade. Shannon was also her brother's (Brandon Lee) assistant for his film Rapid Fire.
In August of 1994, Shannon married her college sweetheart, Ian Keasler. She and Ian currently run The Bruce Lee Foundation. She also sang on the band Medicine's album The Mechanical Forces of Love in 2003.
