ABOUT DTR
Artist management and gig promotion is the main thrust of DTR as we enter our second year.
Launched in February 2006 at Exeter Phoenix with a sold-out show, DTR was founded to fill a void in the South West music scene. Currently there are many talented bands who write their own original music in the South West, but a lack of support is commonplace. Consequently these bands do not get the recognition they deserve. It is the aim of DTR to give these bands an opportunity to forward themselves in the music industry, so that they may gain experience, confidence and professional aid where it matters most. We have already helped a number of bands to record their music professionally and we keep our favourite bands busy on the gigs front. Monthly gigs at the Three Fat Fish (Now The Hub) were our initial regular showcase for the artists we have worked with, but increasingly DTR is being asked to supply bands for other events too. We have run 3 sold out shows at Exeter Phoenix, including Skindred twice and are working on the Exeter Respect Festival again in 2008.
In 2007 DTR concentrated on managing IDIOM and getting them gigs throughout the UK to promote their exciting new recording. Shows in 2007 will be at The Cavern in conjunction with Metal Movement.
We are always looking to add local bands, and any other relevant profiles (i.e. promotional companies, venues, sponsors) to our friends list to generate a cool network amongst south west music lovers. Reciprocal gigs for bands around the UK are also available - you get us a slot at your place and you can play at ours!
If you are from outside Exeter only add us if you think you can get one of our local bands a gig in your home town please
We have also produced a 14 track compilation CD of some of the best local Devon bands, called "Making Tracks"
You can buy tracks from Dirt Track Records here, or on our website. Check them out!
