J.BULLY
“The Heavyweight M.c from n.câ€
AND IN THIS CORNER……
Originally Hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina and weighing in as the foremost contender for the crown, J.BULLY (formerly known as Jugga the BULLY), after attending and graduating from Morehouse College in Atlanta GA returned to earn his throne in Durham NC. BULLY has a long list of achievements, including a solid history in high profile MC Battles (Blaze Magazine, former Source Magazine Atlanta MC Battle Champ, and a standout performer on BET's 106&Park Freestyle Friday 2003), a single that hit the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B Sales Charts (Ridiculous/Yall Know, 2002 - produced by Nitti, producer of Boyz N Da Hood's hit single "Them Boyz"), several 12†singles that have buzzed the streets and airwaves, and a name and unique voice that still rings in hip-hop's underground. It was this existing buzz that brought Bully to the attention of Mogul Group Entertainment in 2006.
J.BULLY is a pure lyricist, whose flow sits somewhere between the South and the North (just like his home state North Carolina); and rivals the flow of any emcee making records today. It is this unique ability to lyrically rest between regions that makes J. Bully the new Southern Standout. He prides himself on writing ‘songs’ not just ‘raps,’ and switching his flows according to the tracks instead of forcing hits. While staying firmly footed in the street, each song still becomes a character-study of one of Hip-Hop’s most impassioned lyrical minds. No question…BULLY will reach fans “from the “Jects to the Cul-de-sac…â€
THE MUSIC (UPPERCUTS)…
J.BULLY's newest bangers, “Doe Boyy†"Never Stop", and “Change†produced by Ski Beatz of Jay Z’s Reasonable Doubt fame, and Black Jeruz (50 Cent) produced classic “Timeâ€, and the new street anthem "Blam Blam Blam" produced by K.Hill, have the name BULLY on the lips and in the minds of major players including NAS himself.
BULLY is working with some of the hottest beat makers stateside and overseas, with heavy connections in North Carolina, Atlanta, Germany and Sweden. With production by SKI BEATZ, DJ TOOMP, BLACK JERUZ, PHREQUINCY, 88 KEYZ, LEX BARKEY, NITTI, AL-MIGHTY, PICASSO, K-HILL, K-SLACK, LARGE MONEY Ent., and soon, 9th WONDER, just to name a few, BULLY consistently blows his audiences away with varying sounds and versatile flows, proving he is indeed ‘the return of the King of North Carolina!’
WHAT ELSE (BODY BLOWS)…
J.BULLY can be seen on stages throughout NC and wherever Hip-Hoppers are listening. He also currently serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Practice at Duke University in the Department of Music, where BULLY designed and teaches a popular course on Hip-Hop/Rap Music Appreciation. That’s right -- he’s a thinker…and also does a weekly radio show as an on-air personality at WXDU 88.7FM. Known amongst peers as a prolific wordsmith, BULLY is also venturing into songwriting, currently attempting to place hit hooks and hot cameo verses with some of your favorite artists and other up and coming artists! Point blank…BULLY is into whatever he can get his hands on…100% Legal Hustler! Holla.
