1993 was the year that DJ MC became intrigued by Hip Hop. It was at this time that he became heavily involved in writing rhymes. By 1995, MC was rapping and working with producers Mike City and Ski Beats. He arrived at NC State University that year and became an on air personality at WKNC 88.1. In 3 years he made the transformation from an emcee to a DJ. The next two years after that he practiced and observed his mentors in action. Then with one of the highest rated college mix shows in North Carolina he began his siege of college parties.
By 2001, DJ MC had taken over the party scene for North Carolina colleges. He was DJing major events across NC including UNCs Greek Freak, the largest Step show and after party in the Southeast. He was also at the time the Assistant to Regional Marketing Director for Elektra Records in NC working under Voodo Sheldon and Courtney Powell. With this title he began making contacts and moves toward spreading out of the local area. His work landed him on a promo tour with ICONZ and a summer gig DJing at New Yorks famous Club NV. 2001 was also the birth of The Untouchables/ Coalition DJs, a DJ team consisting of himself and five other djs based on skill and the love of being an all around DJ, a party, radio, turntablist and mixtape dj all wrapped into 1.
The next few years were spent fine-tuning his craft and traveling over the east coast building his reputation as an Untouchable. During this time he was personally involved in the recording and production of debut album The Listening by Little Brother. Now in 2006, DJ MC is nationally known hitting Philly and Atlanta on a regular basis and has had a monthly residency in Los Angeles for the past year. Also known for his Currency Mixtape Series complete with great mixing, great blends and great music he is one of the most well-rounded upcoming stars in the game. Ohh and we forgot to mention he is also a member of "Justo's Mixtape Allstarz".
