Dan Guzman

Dan Diggler the coochie tickler

About Me

In Feburary of 2001, Dan Guzman came into the house scene with a pair of shitty belt drive turntables and a 2 channel mixer with kill switches. With the help of a great financial mentor, He soon made it to the top. And as a result it was no wonder he upgraded to 3 Technics Turntables & a Pioneer DJM 600 mixer. With new equipment in hand, Dan set out to be baddest house dj in the Clem. From tearing up the local underground scene, he began to build a respectable reputation for rocking the HOUSE. Soon enough he was throwing his own parties, getting more & more gigs, & then moved on to a local basement after hours spot. later that spot would become famous after a 21 week streak of house & turntable madness where Guzman mixed for hours on end. Many times being the only dj to play the whole night, but the people still came & loved what they heard! In the 21 weeks, there were 25 shows including three top notch parties with two floors of none stop music, a home owner's party, & a New Years Eve party that was bangin' All the while there was a weekly after hours anywhere from 9 or 10pm till 3 or 6 am. Dan Guzman has definitely come along way in this big world of house. He is self taught in areas such as mixing, complying, and producing, and also creates beats using Reason, Absynth, Pro52, Cubase, Ambelton Live, Cool Edit Pro, Acid, Kantos Live Wire, and other programs. He has mixed, complied, and produced every recording since 2003 (Unless recorded at a club) & has made his own recordings as well as many remixes ranging from Digital Underground's "Humpty Dance", to Teddy Pendergrass' "TKO", to old school classics such as Ace "How Long". Dan Guzman can lay it down with the best talent there is out there & still have tricks to keep you constanly grooving. He has it all!! Mega mixer skills, Killer knowledge of beats & tracks, Fader tricks, Scratching, In mix two & three record break downs, He can mix three vinyl's at one time flawlessly & you would never know it's unless you are a true house fanatic such as Dan himself. Hailing from the streets of Pt. Huron. Dan moved to the Clem in 1996 & started hitting up the local Detroit underground rave scene. It was such an inspiration that not long after did he start making mixes using a mixer board & any audio device with an output that he could find. Mixing all his favorite tunes & sounds onto tapes & playing them on stealth mode during school while in class. It was the Detroit rave scene from 96' to 2000 that made Guzman want to become a DJ. He told me of a dream that he had had as a kid. 12 years old & had a pre-cognitive dream that he was at a rave & the cops broke it up due to improper permits. At the time, he said "It didn't mean nothing to me". But as he revealed the rest of the story, he would later encounter that same dream in real life at the very rave scene that defined Detroit as a key element in the future of electronic sound & house music. He said "That's when I knew that I was destine to be the baddest house & funk DJ that Detroit has seen" Many years later, Dan Guzman is well on the way to career success. & let it be known that he is here & here to stay. To date, Dan is working his way to the top. Working with many new artist & collaborating with old. Guzman is on a mission to polish every talent & skill he has. Most recently he picked up an opportunity to do independent work as a sound editor at The Detroit Chop Shop (The Largest Independent Sound Effects Company In The World). It;s out of his normal element of beats, mixing, & producing. But Dan has an ambition to expand his skills out of his realm & better master his current skills in the mean time while getting the official studio experience portfolio. House will be a better place to move & groove, to wiggle & shake, to let your mind, body, & soul free to jack till the beat breaks. For Bookings Contact: 586-610-6047
Dancing is one of the major influences in my life and on my lifestyle. It brings me up and gives me a high like no other. It is almost like meditation for me. I choose to start mixing mainly because of dancing. When I first started going to parties or raves. I liked the music so much, that I couldn't help but dance. Dancing made and makes me happy. The music then turned into another passion. Thus opening up a whole new world. I have had many hardships through out my life. Dancing, Music, & God have gotten me through them. But in all, if I could give some advice from what I have learned through knowledge, seeing, and experiance to all people. It would be "Don't hate your life away, Hate is baggage" "Be real and true and the rest will come natural"Dan Guzman Mixes Available For Free DownloadFile name: Dan & Blackilicious Bullshit.mp3 (2005) Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?bhdzjrywg0nFile name: Dan Guzman -- 2004 Demo .mp3 Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?2cuxmixemgpFile name: Seacrets.mp3 (2002) Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?bgynmnflpbaFile name: Vinyl Roots Volume 2.mp3 (2004) Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?cbtbm2ewrwd»-(¯`v´¯)-» **This page was personally pimped by the one and only Bree Shannon** «-(¯`v´¯)-«
