Following in the footsteps of The Chesterfield Kings and The Hellacopters, while adding a refreshing touch of Latin flavor and a Faces style party attitude, Los Fuckin Sombreros have given their take on the glorious hooks of the past, and the result is an instructional manual of all that was good and fun about the rock'n'roll scene from the late 1960's through the early 1980's.
Spearheaded by the songwriting of Pipe Villarán and Francois Peglau, and armed with the most unforgettable band name in rock history, Los Fuckin Sombreros quickly rose to the top in their native Peru, garnering critical acclaim in mainstream national press and throughout the region in Rolling Stone Latin America. Weaving musically from genre to genre and lyrically from Spanish to English, the band earned a cult following over the course of three studio albums, culminating in their masterpiece Sha-La-La. It was at this peak that the band declared it was time to take a "Fuckin Break", leading to a series of sellout shows in Lima in early 2007 before they literally scattered to the four corners of the globe.
As fate would have it, American music industry interest led Pipe and Francois to reunite in New York City on December 14th, 2007 as "Los Fuckin Puercos", a one-off collaboration with Brooklyn's inimitable Black Pig and Tommy Lombardozzi of The Motherjumpers. 2008 now sees renewed possibilities for Los Fuckin Sombreros, as this summer will see the release of Sha-La-La in North America.
STAY TUNED. REAL ROCK'N'ROLL IS ABOUT TO MAKE A COMEBACK!
