Exsecrator: a Latin word that means "he who execrate, imprecate, curse, condemn someone or something".
We started to play together in the last months of 2001 with the following line-up: Mayler (guitar, vocals), Ale (drums) and Teo (bass); in the beginning the genre was thrash/death influenced by early Sepultura and early Death.
In march 2002 the new singer Gian joined the band and the style of the band changed, becoming a floridian death metal ainfluenced by bands like Morbid Angel, Deicide, Malevolent Creation, Obituary, etc. A few months later guitarist Schula joined us and we entered a non-professional studio to record our first demo cd “Born From Devastationâ€, that made us start playing in clubs and was reviewed by webzines and magazines; “Born From Devastation†contained five floridian death metal oriented songs but suffered from a low-fi productions.
In the spring of 2003 guitarist Schula left the band and was replaced by Fausto. In Semptember 2003 Exsecrator recorded at Blue Train’ s Studio the second demo cd “Awakening Of The Abyssâ€; this work contained four songs (plus the video for the song “Christian Agonyâ€) in which was evident the influence of bands of the new school of death metal. In May 2004 bassist Teo left the band and was replaced by 17-year-old Nicolò.
After gigs and festivals with bands like Fornication (BRA), Beheaded (Malta), Prejudice (BEL), Karnak (ITA), Necrotorture (ITA), Hour Of Penance (ITA), in January 2005 we entered Entropy Harmony Studios to record the third demo-cd “Vehemence of Human Displeasureâ€. It represents our technical growth and the natural development of our mix of speed and brutality of Nile, Hate Eternal and Cryptopsy with atmospheres a-la Morbid Angel. The cd contains 3 songs (including the opener in Spanish) and a multimedia section with the amateur video of our live performance at Spiritual Holocaust Festival in December 2004.
This latest release has then been re-mastered and put on a split-cd with Polish death metal act Soulless, entitled "Inheritance of the Wicked Empire" out for Eyes of the Dead Productions.
After 6 years, in the first half of 2007 Mayler left the band to join in force with Dirt Show. The four lasted have a break and restarted to jam together in winter, decided to go on, adding more speed (gravity blasting), complexity, but mantaining the obscure sound texture.
Speaking about the lyrics, we focused our attention on history, philosophy and personal visions and feelings, avoiding the gore topics. There are a couple of episodes not striclty fixed in death metal, but opened to grindcore, that we play to honor the missing souls of Mieszko Talarczyk and Jesse Pintado.
We are now writing new music and looking for a guitarist... and we hope to be back and stab as soon as possible!
