Catch Da Break

About Me

ME AS A DJ: I've been playing and creating music for about 8 years (give or take a year). I rock the breaks (classic, nu-school, funky, electro, etc...) when I'm spinnin records and nothing else. Don't get me wrong. I Love all kinds of music...classic rock, rap, hip hop, funk, soul, jazz, big band, swing, DnB, jungle, techno, happy hardcore, and even a little country, but when I'm droppin wax it's 100% breakbeat, baby. My passion for breaks stems from the influences I had when I was younger listening to rap and hip hop. I'm not talkin Eminem and Bow Wow here. I'm talkin bout RUN-DMC, Eric B & Rakim, Kool Moe Dee, Slick Rick, Kurtis Blow, Dr Jekyl & Mr Hyde and LL Cool J. Most of you youngsters probably don't know nothin about that. That's ok, we still love ya. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ME AS A PERSON: I'm 34 years old. I attended Santa Rosa Christian elementary school, Comstock jr high and Piner high. However my parents moved my junior year and I ended up graduating from Middletown High School. At Middletown I was in a rap group (If you went to school there @ 1990-1991 you might remember me as "Idol Ice"...LOL!) which is what inspired me to become a dj. Let's face it, I couldn't rap my way out of a battle with Kevin Federline. Zach "MC TEL" Anthony & myself were the rappers and Hugh Luce was the dj. Always looking for those two, so if anybody knows them tell them to get in touch with me.I am now married to a wonderful, beautiful, talented woman named Carol, you might know her as Carolclam (She's in my top 8 of course). We have one awesome, fabulous, intelligent, beautiful daughter named Mariah. She is nine years old and wants to be either a fashion designer, actor or world famous drummer....maybe all three. She hasn't decided yet. If you haven't already, please join the "Otis Funkhouser Fan Club". It's in my groups.See ya on the dancefloor-

Sounds Like: An ancient DJ proverb: For want of a slipmat, the record was lost. For want of a record, the needle was lost. For want of a needle, the sound was lost. For want of sound...The crowd left.
