Jody Vianen was born in 1986 in Kockengen, a little village in Holland. At the age of seven she started playing recorder in primary school but soon after she found out this was definitely not the instrument she wanted to play. After some years of thinking which instrument would match better she moved to saxophone when she was twelve. With this instrument she started playing in a fanfare, big bands and did several projects. During high school she found out there are more interesting music styles and instruments that almost made her giving up the saxophone to definitively switch to guitar.
After the moment she realised playing classical stuff was more her thing while she couldn’t really got the swing, she started to focus more on classical saxophone.
Since 2005 she has been studying at the conservatory of Amsterdam with Henk van Twillert. She is playing tenor in the international saxophone ensemble “Vento do Norteâ€, in a quartet without a name yet and she's teaching a buch of pupils.

If you need a saxophonist for making anything experimental, don’t hesitate to contact me as I'm an open minded person who is still into many different music styles.
About the recordings: Vento do Norte is a ten persons big international saxophone ensemble from Porto (Portugal) that includes students of Henk van Twillert. With quite a varied repertoire that is played by heart they can be considered as a musical surprise that turns concert halls upside down.
The music that you now are listening (A playfull quartet by Decanq and Ouverture pour instruments au vent by Mendelssohn) is a recording during a competition in Italy.
