Henrique Portovedo studied with Henk van Twillert and Fernando Ramos in ESMAE, Oporto. During is studies he was also in Amsterdam (Conservatorium van Amsterdam). At the moment he is in London making his master with Gerard McCrystall.
He works as teacher in "Conservatorio de Musica Calouste Gulbenkian de Aveiro" and has various solo projects as performer working directly with several composers developing contemporary music for saxophone. "Red Roots" is the most recent production with electronics and video. He works as freelancer in several orchestras and groups. His first groups are Quad Quartet and Funfarra. Sice 2002 plays in broadcasting for the RTP (Radio and Televison of Portugal).
