...in 1983 a handful of American Football fanatics started out Lions Bergamo.
One year later the team enrolls the Serie B National championship and triumphantly the following year it moves up to Serie A. From here on the team experiences successes and losses, losses and successes and in 1993 they finally top the National championship table, a real first for a team from Bergamo!!! The following year they suffer a dramatic defeat, by 3 points, in the European final at the Stuttgard Olimpic Stadium! After few years of transition they finally reach the golden years, from 1998 to 2008 nothing but victories!!!
They win 3 consecutives Eurobowls (HAMBURG, WIEN, BRAUNSCHWEIG), 1 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE (STOCKHOLM) and for 11 consecutives years the National championship!!!! To complete the picture, Lions Bergamo hold the European record for remaining unbeaten in the Italian championship for 73 games from 1998 to 2006 and in Europe for 60 games from 1999 to 2003.LA STORIA SIAMO NOI !!!
...Nel 1983 un manipolo di appassionati di Football Americano fondano i LIONS BERGAMO. Nel 1984 la squadra viene iscritta al campionato nazionale di SERIE B ... e si impone trionfalmente passando l'anno seguente in SERIE A. Da allora un crescendo tra successi e sconfitte fino al PRIMO SCUDETTO NAZIONALE PER UNA SQUADRA DI CLUB TARGATA BERGAMO !!! (era il 1993). L'anno seguente la cocente delusione della finale europea persa per 3 punti nello stadio olimpico di Stoccarda! Dopo qualche anno di transizione e esperienze varie ... arriva il periodo d'oro ... dal 1998 al 2008 SOLO VITTORIE !!! 3 EUROBOWL CONSECUTIVI (AMBURGO, VIENNA, BRAUNSCHWEIG), 1 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE (STOCKHOLM) E 11 SCUDETTI NAZIONALI CONSECUTIVI !!! A completare il quadro, i LIONS BERGAMO detengono il record europeo di imbattibilità : nel campionato italiano dal 1998 al 2006 (73 partite) e in Europa dal 1999 al 2003 (60 partite).SETTORE GIOVANILE.
Da sempre punto fondamentale della politica LIONS. Fare crescere i giovanissimi insegnandoli questo sport dalle basi per poi inserirli in prima squadra. Un esempio unico nel panorama Football Italiano che ha sempre avuto grande successo. Non a caso anche i "leoncini" detengono il record di 9 SCUDETTI NEGLI ULTIMI 13 ANNI !!!
Il settore giovanile è suddiviso in: Flag team, Under 18 e Under 23.
