Hey everyone- my name is Matt Tomasko. If you're coming here you've either seen one of my shows, or you're one of my fantastic- amazing- and cool friends! Either that, or you're just bored and surfing and noticed a weird looking profile picture!!
If you've seen the, 'Boy Next Door' show- then you know how speratic and perplexingly strange it is. For those who don't-- I'll fill you in here.
I was always attracted to comedy and making people laugh. I got involved with magic when I was five years old; and ever since then it's grown into a really cool full time living for myself. I always tried to be like David Copperfield- the serious type of magician. Well, sadly and to my utter dismay: that never worked. I found I had a natural ability to make people laugh out loud. So, I started developing a comedy magic show--- now, several years later the end result has been: The Boy Next Door Show!!
The Boy Next Door show is a combination of wit, magic, comedy, and 98.999% audience participation. I make bowling balls appear- fish (yes there's live animals! Sorry.. no bunny out of the hat here!)- and numeous other 'uncommon' objects appear during the show. At one point getting the entire audience involved! A whole lot of funny bits and magic- making it a great opening act or timed set for clubs. A typical full length show for 45 minutes; however I could go for a longer set.
I've had a blast with performing; it really has been good to me. I now live here in Manhattan, New York City- which is a total dream come true. Before the, 'Big Apple' I toured for two years with the show in Asia. Lived in Tokyo for a while; which was pretty cool. The show has seen a lot of action. The show; not myself...
Anywhere from South Korea- Guam- the Philippines; to about four other countries. Over the years it's been a whirlwind of performances ranging nationally to internationally more recently. To shows for the rock band, "LIVE" to performances for celebrities such as, James Earl Jones. To numerous government officials such as Former Secretary of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge. While touring in Asia- I had the honor of opening for numerous acts. Including the Harlem Globe Trotters, rock band, 'Elevation', and Nashville Country music artist, Floyd Vanlaningham.
I had a blast taking the show on the road like that-- but now am here to work for the NY audiences! Looking forward to seeing you all at the shows!! Also, if you just want to hang out, are in the city- give me a call!
