Your faith was strong, but yeh needed proof

About Me

starhead is a spooky little y'all-ternative Lo-Fi rock band, formed by some orphans of the glorious 90's (indy) rock-type-thing.
The group formed in Denton, texas in 2008 with Cody Robinson (This Projector, Medicine Window, Low Dosage, Secret Headquarters) and Ira Wile (Thee Red Oak Social Club, Devils On Horseback, Secret Headquarters, notwolf and the zen blues band), later adding Brent Nichols (This Projector, Mauve X and the Mystery of the Scarlet Harpy), James Kerr (Mariachi Inolvidable, Dan's Silverleaf), Sarah Alexander (The Gloomadeers, Dokodemo Doa, The Black Lodge), and Tamara Cauble (The Polyphonic Spree, the Gloomadeers).
The band's name was originally drawn from the name of an album by another local band ( jetscreamer), the origins from there are best left uncovered, according to Will Kapinos (of jetscreamer).
Mr Kapinos will forever drink for free wherever we may play.
Until we went into the studio, of the songs to date had been recorded with one mic at ira's Locust Ave flat, hence 'Locust demos'.
We could be all obscure and use 'Locust' to reference the unyielding tide of emotion and life that barrels down on thinking humans, and can leave devastation and awe in it's wake until the new crops poke through, but it's just not so complicated, as Scott Porter is wont t'say...
Currently, starhead is finishing the album 'Escadrille' at Transient Camp, in Argyle, Texas, with Brent Best ( Slobberbone, The Drams, The Murder Virgins) producing.
Please check out Record Hop ( 'Last Second'), and 63 Eyes ('9th Grade Child') for the original versions of those songs, as well.
And Jetscreamer. Go check those cats out. Amazing.
The starhead CD is tentatively set for August. The diff between what's posted here on the myspace and what we've been mixing up is parsecs apart. Wait and see...
