About Me

In the beginning of the nineteen eighties, on Chicago's north side, Genaro J. Valach, was born into the arms of a loving and musically talented Mother, who, from “Magisty’s” very first breath, inspired him to set out on a fantastic musical journey. The serious voyage began early at seven years of age, when Magisty attended formal classes of learning to read and write music, while the thunderous influence of his uncle’s deejay sounds and equipment were ever present in the house. By nine years old, private piano lessons were the next part of the course. In 1992 Magisty had the honor of meeting former Jive Records recording artist and producer Mr. Lee. Taking an interest in this young promising musician, Lee purchased a Kawiai K4 synthesizer keyboard for Magisty to further sharpen his playing ability. In 1994 music began to take a whole different turn. Up to then, the music always included playing instruments. But a new attraction was developing, to a new instrument, the microphone. Just a short time later, after writing short verses and putting them to homemade beat tracks recorded on just a home stereo system to play for friends and family, Magisty began to notice that he had a knack for wowing his audience with clever lyrics and jaw dropping punch lines. Things were heating up. But throughout his life, and especially now, during his high school years, another passion grew, baseball. During this interval, baseball became Magisty’s number one focus. Having played since the tender age of three, it looked to be that this would be his calling. Trying out for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals it looked like he was on his way to becoming a professional ball player, but then tragically, due to a tremendous shoulder injury, the dream became unobtainable. Blinking back the hurt, Magisty turned to his second love and put together a small deejay rig and sound system and began promoting himself. In 2004 Magisty linked up with a deejay crew and began to work more and more, but he felt that something wasn't right. So in late 2004 he formed a hip-hop group called Lake Effect. He knew what it was. He wanted the whole world to hear his voice. In early 2005, he was introduced to producer and artist, Michael Charles. After hearing MC and his band at a performance in Chicago, Magisty believed he could add a flavor to the music he was hearing. Something that no one had ever heard before!! He approached Mike with his idea to see if this could be a possibility. Michael accepted the idea and after hearing this “new music”, MC started concentrating on what this new lyricist’s style could mean to his music and started building a solid relationship with Magisty. MC has taken this hip-hop inspired artist and turned him into something far greater than just an emcee, but a true musician in many ways. They are currently working on a project that is going to fuse Hip-Hop, Rock, and Blues in a way unlike anyone has ever heard. In the year 2007 “Magisty“ is privileged to still be traveling up his musical path and now with Michael Charles, they‘re “Connected”!!

Influences:

My influence in this game is a man who chooses to take an aspiring hip-hop cat and not only believe in the music he was tryin to create but has turned this cat from "artist" to "Musician". Has opened his world to a fusion of genres that most criticize for attempting. A man who has accepted this hip-hop cat as one of his own and is willing to stick behind him even while staring in the face of adversity. This is a true MAN and one of great influence......Thank You Michael Charles!! Check him out at www.michaelcharles.us............ Now on the flipcide my influences for remaining in this game have to be ya haters out there !! The sad part about it is that the ones hating aren't even the people U would normally expect. Normally U have people you don't know hating on U but in this case it's the exact opposite. While so called "FAMILY" say they support the mission, they turn around and run they mouth. Tell U that they understand and want to help but use it as if you are expected to owe them something for whut they call a gesture. So keep thinkin negative and keep TRYIN to bring me down cuz I GUARANTEE I will have the last LAUGH !!!
Sounds Like: that shit u need despite incest and greed .. when the flame hits the blunt and begins to burn the tree .. "sounds like" instead of hatin ya sit back and reminisce .. put a light up, pour out a lil for those missed then turn up the volume until ya speakers start ta hiss .. "sounds like", no bullshit just everyday flow .. whut "they" tryin ta do but "they" got a "Long Way to GO" .. "sounds like " i took whut u thought u had and gave it that spin .. "sounds like" u was lookin ta loose when u said u wanted to win .. "sounds like" u lookin for where it begins but u lost in the crowd .. while they sayin "Turn it Up", U hopein we turn it down .. "sounds like" that feelin of a flow that cha just can't knock .. got cha all shook up when takin out cha box .. takin off ya so called block, nothin eva happens there .. gave u that REAL and u still was actin scared .. "sounds like" it aint fair been this far in such little time .. thats whut u get from a man given tha gift of rhyme .. "sounds like" ya runnin outta time so u decided to take a break .. naw i say it "sounds like" ya realized u was just a fake .. "sounds like" u stay online steady on "myspace", cuz that's as close as u'll get to being in the presence of "myspace" .. "sounds like" all u got is the World Wide Web, and u's a dumb nicca for eva thinkin Hip-Hop is Dead ! "sounds like" i'm a have to resurrect it, become one of Hip-Hop's descendants .. while year after year u still on ya parents tax return as one of they dependants .. "sounds like" I aint got shit to loose and everything to gain .. "sounds like" u goin through whut we grown folks call "Growin Pains" !!!
