BEHOLD, I SEND YOU FORTH AS SHEEP IN THE MIDST OF WOLVES: BE YE THEREFORE WISE AS SERPENTS, AND HARMLESS AS DOVES.(MATTHEW 10:16)We agree that children should be protected and every allegation must be checked out, but removing the children from their home should be a last resort until some preliminary investigation has been done and parents should have the right to defend themselves. Supervised visits should be arranged immediately. 5 or 6 days of being separated from parents is too long, especially if the allegations turn out to be unfounded!
Phone calls by concerned family members should be returned and not ignored. Every effort should be made to keep children together, secure and with people they know and love when possible.
A presumption of guilt is backwards from the judicial system, yet common practice with CPS. Parents should be presumed innocent until proven guilty, while investigations are done.
