Daniel Luhulima

Daniel Luhulima is a percussionist/drummer/teacher from Moluccan descent. He studied and graduated at the Conservatory in Rotterdam.He grew up in a musical environment which had a great influence on young Daniel, especially playing music in the church, where his father conducted a flute ensemble. As a youngster he got interested in music. His first music teacher Jonas Tahapary taught him also the basics on the congadrums. From that period on Daniel knew that he wanted to become a conguero and percussion player. He was very determined to achieve this goal. He wanted to know all about Latin-American percussion and collected the information from all kinds of books and articles concerning this subject. Daniel studied with many different teachers in the field before entering the Conservatory in Rotterdam in order to develop his musical skills even further. Constantly busy with music during the years developed more passion in his performances as a percussion player/ drummer.
