Annika and sister Kaisa in The Red Rose Girls days

About Me

Growing up in a musical family, Annika began singing and performing in childhood. She attended some of the first Bluegrass Festivals held in Oregon and developed a skill for harmonizing and songwriting along with her sister and father at an early age. Born and raised in rural Oregon, Annika has been inspired and influenced by traditional music her entire life. She has been performing as a singer songwriter since the age of eighteen, accompanying herself on the guitar. She was a member of the vocally dynamic group The Red Rose Girls with her sister Kaisa Bourgidu and Vanessa Veselka (they're currently on hiatis), and co-founded the band Sweet Fern along with Doug Sammons (Sam Hill, Midnight Serenaders). Both bands drew heavily from The Original Carter Family's body of work. Annika's songwriting is in the folk genre while carrying the influence of traditional music she treasures. She gets her Bluegrass fix while singing and performing Duets with her Husband Rollie Champe (Sawtooth Mountain Boys and New Old Friends).
