FEDERICA BRAGAGLIAMezzo-sopranoFederica Bragaglia started her career portraying with enthusiastic approvals Sophia in Terence McNally’s Master Class con Maria Callas with Rossella Falk, in more than 200 performances on the stages of the main theatrical institutions in Italy and abroad.She has sung with conductors such as Maurizio Arena, Bruno Bartoletti, Yoram David, Gianluigi Gelmetti,Eliahu Inbal, Gustav Kuhn, Alain Lombard, Zoltán Pesko, Stefano Ranzani, György Györiványi Rath, Antoni Ros-Marba, Nello Santi,Michel Plasson, Marc Soustrot, and in collaboration with the stage directors Liliana Cavani, Giulio Chazalettes, Filippo Crivelli, Gilbert Deflo, Alberto Fassini, Werner Herzog, Lotfi Mansouri, Giuliano Montaldo, Beni Montresor, Pierluigi Pizzi and Lamberto Puggelli. She has worked in important theatres such as the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, Arena and Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Teatro Comunale di Modena, Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro Verdi di Trieste, Teatro de La Maestranza in Sevilla. Apart for her operatic career, Federica Bragaglia also enjoys a huge concert activity. The discography of Federica Bragaglia include Madame Sans-Gêne (Dynamic), I matrimoni per magia by Fioravanti (Bongiovanni), La contadina astuta by Pergolesi, Mavra by Stravinsky (Kicco Classic), as well as the DVD recording of Jerusalem by Verdi and La vedova allegra by Lehar for RAI.In past seasons Federica Bragaglia has sung, among others, as Almirena in Händel’s Rinaldo and as Smeraldine in Prokofiev’s L’amour des trois oranges at the Teatro Bellini di Catania; Norma (Adalgisa) in Oporto; Die Zauberflöte (Papagena) at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo and at the Teatro Bellini di Catania, La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi) and Frugola (Il tabarro) in the 2002 season opening of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Isaura in Jerusalem and Olga in Fedora at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Vénus in Offenbach’s Orphée aux enfers at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Valencienne in Die Lustige Witwe at the Arena di Verona. In 2004 he sang in Nabucco (Fenena) at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, in Don Carlo at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, at the Teatro Regio di Parma and at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, and Luisa Miller (Federica) in Palm Beach. In the last season she performed the role of La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi and Lola in Cavalleria rusticana at the Teatro Pergolesi di Jesi and in Fermo. Engaged for Roberto Devereux at the Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo (September 2006) she will sing Nabucco and Die Lustige Witwe.Federica Bragaglia began at the age of six her artistic forming, studying piano, classic and modern dance, and graduating in singing at the Conservatory «L. Refice» in Frosinone. She won important Italian competitions, such as the «Mario del Monaco» in Marsala.
