April Hill is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Voice Performance from Emory & Henry College in 2004. During her time at Emory & Henry, Hill was a member and soloist for the Concert and Oratorio Choirs as well as the elite Chamber Singers group. She was the recipient of the Adrienne Arow Davis Voice Scholarship her junior and senior years. Hill appeared as a guest soloist with Mark Owen Davis in an afternoon of arias and duets for the Spencer Memorial Concert Series at the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon, Va. She was the cover for Violetta in the Southern Opera and Musical Theatre Company and Mississippi Opera production of La Traviata in the fall of 2005. In the fall of 2006, she placed second in the Regional NATS competition. She came in first place in the Mississippi Federation of Music Clubs competition, and she most recently won the District round of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. In the spring of 2007, Hill performed the role of Micaela in the Southern Opera and Musical Theatre Company and Mississippi Opera production of Carmen and the following spring played Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro. In the summer of 2008, Hill played the role of Pamina from Die Zauberflöte in Rome, Italy with Operafestival di Roma. She recently completed her Master of Music degree at the University of Southern Mississippi. Ms. Hill has worked with many coaches, directors, and conductors including Mark Owen Davis, Mark Oswald, Thomas Muraco, Daniel Ferro, Fiora Contino, Alan Mann, Wendy Taucher, Richard Harrell, Kathryn Cathcart, Melanie Day, Jay Dean, and Maestro Francesco Carotenuto.
