About Me

Lyric Mezzo-Soprano Kristin Kostielney has been praised for her "wonderfully rich" and "expressive" voice and is at home singing a wide range of musical styles from Opera to R&B to Americana. She has performed as a soloist in numerous productions including Benjamin Britten's "Rejoice in the Lamb", Mendelssohn's "Hymn of Praise", Leonard Bernstein's "Trouble in Tahiti" and has been the recipient of several scholarships and awards, including the Redwood Empire Regional NATS Vocal festival where she won First Place in her division. Ms. Kostielney is also an accomplished violinist of 25+ years and maintains a studio where she teaches both violin and voice. She has participated in several recording projects, and can be heard on the demo for Jeff Langley and Amanda McTigue's "Opelousas Sisters". Most recently, Ms. Kostieney was the mezzo soprano soloist in composer/pianist Peter B. Allen's world premiere of "Two Wings, One Bird". Ms. Kostielney is an extra in the San Francisco Opera Chorus for the 2009-2010 season. She studies with Susan Witt-Butler in Santa Rosa, CA.
