MORE TUNES THAN YOU CAN SHAKE A DOWNLOAD AT!www.marlowe.org.uk--------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- Inspired by Raymond Chandler's 'Philip Marlowe' novels & the Kinky Freidman series, & modern film noir classics such as Blade Runner & Sin City, music producer & singer-songwriter Phil Allen stepped-out with his guitar strapped to his back as the smog was starting to congeal over London for the summer of 2005. With a pedigree of indie grunge bands & electronica behind him Phil searched the tourist-ravaged streets of the city for inspiration. And the more he looked, the more he found. Little tales of personal dreams & shattered sunsets, of love & loss & the isolation of city life that each of us cling to started to form in Phil's mind. As he put pen to paper, Marlowe was born.Eighteen months & many gigs later, Phil knew he had created a monster. Marlowe's twisted stories & powerful live performances were grabbing the attention of gig-goers & night-dwellers both in London-town & worldwide via myspace & websites. People wanted to celebrate their own little slice of the madness & Marlowe knew he needed help. He wanted to make a big big noise, a dark & joyful sound to bring-out the meek & the twisted to revel in the forgotten moments & sideways glances that gather to make this life.......................................................w hich brings us up to the present day. Phil is now gone, having been squashed out of his body by the increasingly powerful Marlowe. Haunted by fitful dreams of burlesque dancers, fire-eaters, grunge rock & soul, Marlowe knows what he has to do.So keep you ears to the ground & one eye on the darkest corner of the back-street- Marlowe's coming, & he's bringing musicians, dancers, freaks & the meek with him to celebrate our twisted life in the city...THE MARLOWE SHOW STARTS THIS SUMMER; BE READY.
