As many of you know Laura was released from jail on March 25, 2008. She is not out completely though. The state is making her report to mandatory work release at 40 hours a week with no pay. ANY failure to attend or even being late will result in Laura's immediate imprisonment to surely finish out her whole sentence. LA County still "owns" Laura like they do any inmate within this system.
Even though Laura was let out early because LA County jails are overcrowded, Kevin is still in prison and will not receive the choice of getting out early.
Kevin will soon be transferred to state prison soon. While he is in "reception" (transferring between the Twin Towers and prison) he will not be able to have visitors or make phone calls. This will last about a month or so. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE continue to write Kevin. These letters are what will help carry him through this hard time.
We are hoping to get his "reception" address tonight
We are still asking people to write Kevin and let him know that we support him in every way. Laura and Kevin are not allowed to visit one another due to CA state laws. So please please please continue to write Kevin. On March 13th, 2008 East Coast activist Laura was
sentenced to one year in county jail followed by 5
years of probation.
Kevin Olliff plead guilty to
felony burglary charges as a result of several months
of surveillance by our good friend at homeland
security.
Kevin was sentenced to 16 months in state prison with 3
years of parole.
Collectively, the owe $856 in restitution.
Laura also has to pay for her own parol which is going to cost her $120 a month. Remember as of now that have he working 40 hours a week with no pay!!!Please consider making a small donation to cover commissary funds for the next year and a half and to help them chip away at their restitution. We’re also looking for activists in California that can offer any assistance they can upon their release. Keep in mind that Laura is new to the west coast.email Laura’s support group at [email protected] Kevin's book list at:

Laura Lungarelli and Kevin Olliff are activist who were recently arrested, after a raid on their Los Angeles home. Though law enforcement has given non-activist related charges as a reason for the raid, it is quite clear that there is an underlying political motivation. In case you have not heard, Laura and Kevin in addition, their place was raided, cars searched (about 18 law enforcement officers total, Pasadena and Los Angeles amongst others) and computers and other items taken. Their recently adopted cat survived the raid and is fine.Although the charges are not animal rights related, they most likely were brought to justify the home raid.Once I find out more I will be updating the site. If anyone wants me to add anything just let me know. I am trying to stay in regular contact with Laura via Dave and snailmail. Thanks to everyone for your support! I know everyone is doing what they can, thanks!
