First child of four, I was born one cold December day in Montreal Canada. When the doctor asked my mother what name she had chosen for me, she proudly answered, His name will be Samuel. I guess that the twenty-four-hour labor made her not hear the fact that she just had had a daughter and not a son. However, my father had it all planned out and thus I was named Lydie after a personage in the bible who was recognized for her hospitality and also remembered as a business woman back in the ancient days. I didnt really have a nickname back home unlike my sister for example, though my mom would often call me Ly (Lee). These days some of my best friends call me LJ, JJ, Qboogie...
After getting my college degree, I moved to Ontario. A couple years later, I met someone who now is another one of my best friends. He encouraged me to join him and a team of promoters. I want to thank him for making that move and reintroducing me or rekindling this love for business that I had growing up. I owe him for that. So I gladly embarked on that journey with four other independent, young, hype and eclectic individuals. We worked on various very successful projects together. It was exciting to work alongside producers, studio bar and club owners, mega superstars and stars in the making. I came to form a nice family like bond with the crew.
So far I can say that I have been blessed. I have worked with amazing people and met people more precious than diamond and fine gold. I want to mention another love of my life, my sister. Shes been the best sister in the world. She is number one. And of course my two amazingly talented brothers. These two composers make crazy beats. I cannot wait to work alongside them!
All this takes us to the year 2005 and the month August. Thandie brings forth a business idea based on helping artists to get to where they need to be. Help them soar and be even more successful than they have ever been. We met, shook on it and in no time found a company name. And so far weve been serious, hard working and dedicated. It feels great to be affiliated with a strong woman like Thandie. Our new baby, Thandem Leading Connections Inc., is now born. The way I see it the sky is the limit!
April 2006. Despite our best intentions, Thandie and I had to go in different directions. All in all I learned many valuable business lessons, giving me a heightened sense of purpose, the ability to successfully focus on bringing my career goal into fruition. I love music, I love artists, I love the music industry and the potential it has especially in Canada and I love promoting. So for now I am refocusing and realigning myself, we'll see what the future brings... people say that things happen for a reason... perhaps.
The following flyers I've designed.. I do this on my spare time JUST for fun.. I am not a graphic designer!.. well not yet ;).
