About Me

..

Hmmm, let's see:
I am actually pretty shy (some people seem to find that hard to believe), but I'm working on it.
I tend to think a lot, which isn't a bad thing, I suppose, but I know that, sometimes, I think way too much and tend to stand in my own way - I'm working on that, too, but it's tough.
I consider myself an open-minded person, I try very hard not to judge others and expect the same of them.
I always try to be honest, which is something a lot of people seem unable to handle, but I strongly believe that honesty is very important. For me this has something to do with respect. I appreciate people being honest with me, even if it can be hard to accept the truth. That doesn't mean I never lie, though. ;-)
I don't use the term "friend" lightly. Just because I don't call you a friend doesn't mean I don't like you, I'm just very careful using the term, so please don't be offended.
Oh, and I tend to talk quite a lot - but if you've made it this far you have probably already figured that out by now. ;-)

My Interests

Music, concerts, roadtrips, dancing (I love dancing, when I'm in the right mood I'll even dance to music I can't stand - I've started taking belly dancing classes which is tough - but so much fun!),movies, books, spending time with friends, be it on the internet or in "real life", my pets, jogging, learning new stuff, seeing new places, going for walks, good talks with intelligent people...I'm interested in many things and I'm always curious to learn something new, so if you've got anything you want to share - inspire me! ;-)
I like roses (well, flowers in general, but roses are my favourites), the sun and moon, candles, incense (rose, opium, patchouli, vanilla), perfume (sweet and heavy scents), chocolate (unfortunately), dressing up, high heels, jewellery, glittery things, wine and vodka (not together, of course!), tea, café latte, cinnamon, caramel - oh - and

I'd like to meet:

You...if you have an open mind! ;-)
However, if you are looking for a long-term, relationship, the woman of your life, someone to marry, please don't bother to contact me, especially if you live in some far away country!
Anyone else please feel free to send me a friend request. However, if you do so, please make sure you also send me a short message to let me know what made you want to add me in the first place. If I don't hear from you after I've accepted your request I'll just delete you again - there's no point to just adding someone for the sake of it!

Music:

and so many others that I couldn't possibly list them all. I am really into all kinds of music: Rock, Goth, Folk, Country, Classical Music, you name it.
A few more favourites that come to mind are New Model Army(!!!)
Andy Prieboy, Wall of Voodoo, Skid Row, Iron Maiden, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Dead Can Dance, The Cure, Concrete Blonde, Mike Oldfield, Big Country, The Alarm, Dave Sharp, The Tea Party, Waterboys, Depeche Mode, Culture Club - I think you get the picture

Movies:

RainMan, The 13th Warrior, L.A. Confidential, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, The Life of Brian, The Full Monty, Wag the Dog, Seven, Sleepy Hollow, From Dusk till Dawn, Still Crazy, Company of Wolves, Benny & Joon, Pirates of the Caribbean and many others I can't think of right now

Television:

Current: Lost and C.S.I.
Sadly not on TV anymore (long live videos and DVDs): Black Adder, Robin of Sherwood, Due South

Books:

I love reading...all kinds of books really, as long as they're well written. If you have any recommendations just let me know!
The work of Joolz Denby has impressed me deeply, check her out, she is totally amazing, I can't praise her enough!!!
James Ellroy is also a great author...try "L.A. Confidential" or "American Tabloid", Elisabeth George, oh - and Janet Evanovich's books are a fun read if you don't want any of the "heavy" stuff! I like Anne Rice, some stuff by Steven King (not all of his books, though), Patrica Cornwell...
Oh, please check out "The Psycho-Ex Game" by Merrill Markoe & Andy Prieboy as well - highly recommendable!!!!
