An arty farty bit of scruff!

About Me

I've been playing gigs for five years now, and I've just moved to Crouch End in London having lurked around the Camden and then the East End for a couple of years.I'm 25, and deeply passionate about my music, particularly Rock, which has always explained things to me that I couldn't do myself. Its a strange genre, both modern and archaic. I know for a fact that when I'm playing in a band that I have total freedom like I've never felt before. Its truly a superhuman experience.I like the myspace idea, and quite a few of my friends have had great experiences with it, so I thought that I'd join the party...so to speak. Its been fun so far, we're the first generation to really have the web at our finger tips as artists. The songs that I post here are rough home demos. Good fodder for the rest of the band to thrash through. In 2006, I recorded a mini-opera, Attack Of The Chevron Action Flasher, which is about 13 minutes long. The band play it on stage now, and I'm working on a far bigger, crazier and more spectacular idea which is one for the future.Tom.

In The Beginning Was The Word...and Danny the Drummer lies down on Broadway

And I seem to be listening to a lot of Genesis at the moment for the first time.  Our drummer is mad for Genesis, he remembers listening to it in his dad's car from when he was just out of nappie...

Extract

On my bedroom I have an incomplete collection of pages from the printed draft of my new "big thing" in progress - The Light Gate.  Part of this is a three page literary prologue.  I wrote th...

Ashes To Ashes

Recording was good on Thursday.  We only had time to cut The Brief and Popular, but I’m reasonably happy with both rough mixes, and really keen to hear what Andy will do in post-production ...

Slim Chances

It seems that I'm back.  I feel like I've fallen through a window back in to March 2006.  But here I am, my back up against the wall, questioning whether I should try to make music at all, a...

Recording - Rehearsing - Dukes

I've been at home today recording, without much produced at the end of it.  Very frustrating.  Something didn't click.  I had expected great things.  I found myself looking out of ...

So Sad About Us...

Oh Myspace, why did you have to turn so rubbish and sprout so much spam and so many adverts trying to sell me things around a post code that I've told you haven't been living in for three years? And w...

When The Problem Is We’ve Forgotten How To Fight!

And fight is going to be what we do. Which is why, I'm smiling at the moment.  There's some much scope for a good rock n roll band to come along at the moment and make a differnece.  But&nbs...
