The Light

About Me

The Light is a three-piece rock n roll band hailing from the corners of the United Kingdom and based in London town, the capital city of Europe.Unlike the multiplicity of pretenders to the proud tradition of British rock, pop and all the wonderfully weird things in and between, The Light don't spend their time looking at their arses in the mirror and preening their pretty boy NME haircuts. In fact, for a long time the members of The Light didn't have hair cuts at all! Enabling them to cultivate an extended connection with their roots, both musical and follicle. Each member of the group are very attached to their roots, no matter how much the tide of time rages against these twentysomethings, the roots remain largely still intact...and their coats nourished with real marrow for a glossy shine. The Light believe in making music with energy, balls and intelligence. The Light believe in the power of music to do something, and look forward to finding out exactly what that may be for each member and each member of the audience; and to sticking to this whilst the pretenders amongst their pretending contemporaries pretend themselves into becoming real members. The Light believe in using light shows and projections in pubs and clubs near you, so that you think that the money you spent on your bus fare and the effort of traversing the concrete jungle was a good trade. The Light want sound techs, artists, filmmakers and all the brilliant brains out there to get in contact and work with them. The Light have just completed their first recordings, the first tracks of songwriter Tom Matchett's canon of songs, to be cut by the group, with plans to record the mini-opera "Attack Of The Chevron Action Flasher" - a story of darkness, light, stuttering kids, flashing bankers turned nocturnal public wankers, Matrix Churchill and parks - in the second half of 2008.The Light has lots of other plans...but is going to keep it close to its chest until it has the good good people on board with it to bring it all together. In the meantime, The Light want gigs and wants you to ask them. Make it so! I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
