About Me

About me:
Call him a musician, a producer, or even a hustler, but don’t call him a beat maker. Maryland’s own Aime Brunn, co-founder of Silver Spring-based AMMO Entertainment/Red Line Productions doesn’t like when people get it twisted. “My aim is to make soundtracks for life in Maryland; I don’t make beats.”Brunn was inspired by music at an early age. Born in St. Thomas, V.I. on May 16, 1979, he later moved to the states, where he was raised by his aunt in Downtown Silver Spring and the D.C. section of Takoma Park. He developed a lifelong connection to classic wax when she’d call out, make him stop whatever he was doing, and flip whatever vinyl was playing on the record player. One night, he saw a documentary that featured Dizzy Gillespie playing the trumpet, and he knew that he wanted to be a musician. He started studying trumpet at age 12 and continued all the way through senior year in high school, typically holding 1st or 2nd chair in Montgomery Blair’s prize winning jazz band and delivering memorable solos. Being a producer was always in the back of his mind, but he never acted on it until his sister surprised him when she said she’d go half on a SP 505 Drum machine with him. From that point, Brunn worked relentlessly, usually until 4am each night, striving to become the next big thing and put the DC Metro Area on the map. His production ambitions made him become increasingly interested in audio engineering and he began studying the finer points of sound at the Omega Studios School of Applied Sciences and Art. He finished the program and later became certified in Pro Tools. Since this time, his company has begun gaining momentum, and he has branched out into radio work. Aime has since honed his skills and is ready to unleash dramatic soundtracks while at the same time not scared of saying where he’s from. Murlyn. JO
