In this game of mediocre artists making effortless
club bangers
and lackluster love songs, its rare to find artists that still possess the drive to go against the grain and display lyricism, creativity, and hunger, all while keeping their work relevant enough for people to get in touch with.
To fill this void is
Point Blank's Ice a.k.a. The Villain
. Born Anthony Poole in Spartanburg, SC and raised in Prince Georges County, Maryland, this young fire-spitter fuses together a wide vocabulary, metaphors, and a playboys confidence to attract the ears of listeners of all sorts and preferences.I usually dont try to limit my content so that it can be effective and relative to anybody. I like to make it so that anyone from young to old, streets to the suburbs, and in between can sit and vibe with me and my music and be able to join me on the journeys I take them on.
Ice has been working at his craft since the age of ten (fifth grade) and drastically improving as time passes. He has developed a strong work ethic from his military father and vice principal mother, which shows in his music and the noticeable attention he pays to every detail of his wordplay, whether hes heating up a club track, lacing the ladies, or delivering a heartfelt concept.
Ices sound is influenced by a wide range of artists with unique wordplay skills from Camron, Joe Budden, Royce Da 59, Lil Wayne, and Eminem, to hip-hop greats such as Rakim, KRS-One, Slick Rick, as well as various R&B and Alternative Rock artists.Of course, Im a fan of Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, and Big L. Theyre lyrically in a league of their own, its crazy how they put things together.
Not only does he use their work for inspiration and fuel for his race to the top, he hopes to one day be mentioned along with their names as one of the best to get in the game and leave a lasting impression on everyone else that enters it. Though he has only been able to reach a small crowd thus far, Ice935 The Villain is definitely prepared to put the game in a freeze frame and get his point across to the world.
=-CHAINZ-=
CHAINZ
was born Chandler Haynes(C. Haynes aka CHAINZ) in Manhattan, New York and has been freestyling since the age of six with his older cousin on a tape recorder. His style, inspired by The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, and Big L, has its own smooth laid back rhyme scheme. Rapping alongside Ice since 2001, he is still making music with intentions of benefits for him and his family.
Currently he is living in Maryland but attending Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C. majoring in Mass Communications. He is studying to be a producer with a degree in sound engineering. He is known for the C. before his slick punchlines and his swagger on any beat his voice is heard on.
=-LCD-=
Born in the Bahamas and raised on two different continents,
LCD a.k.a. Black Beethoven
is striving to make his music global. The upcoming hip-hop and R&B producer and founder of Taping Your Mouth Entertainment is tired of the monotonous sound of urban music, and is focusing his efforts on making great music.
Known amongst his peers simply as D, he began his musical career at the age of 4, taking piano lessons for 10 years. He later pursued the saxophone and dabbled with the drums. His father, a distinguished musician and composer, was his main influence in music,My dad plays piano and drums, and once he started making his OWN music, I was hooked.
He now has learning to play the guitar in his sights, just another way to elevate himself in the game.
After an extended time living in South America, LCD has learned a new appreciation of world music, and believes that hip-hop has become too stagnant.Everyone sounds the same, says the frustrated producer, Im trying to incorporate new sounds and let everyone know that you can do your own thing in this game and be creative.
Creative, indeed. He has been known to craft originally composed works that are often mistaken for samples, as his musical talent is above your average beat-maker,I dont just lay down drums and call it a day. Youve got to be imaginative and make it your own.
He draws most of his influences from artists from the 70s, citing Curtis Mayfield and Willie Hutch as two of his favorites. He also says he looks up to Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, The Neptunes and Timbaland as his rap influences, but dont expect him to be clone,I love the music all those guys create, and I learn from their music, but dont expect me to sound like them. Im trying to join their ranks by doing my own thing.
At the rate hes going, expect the Black Beethoven to be in that top list in no time.
